Every full moon there is a gathering of drummers and assorted performance artists for an impromptu drum circle on the sands of Miami Beach. The fire dancers are one the the high points of the night's festivities.
Great time at Jerome Hamilton's Canon Workshop on photographing motion. Worked with professional fire spinners, Faegann Harlow and Chris to get these shots. They're awesome performers!

I turned up late after my trip to Bristol so missed the fireworks. So here's a few pictures of the bonfire instead!
I was about a mile north of this location when I saw the smoke. I could tell that it was south of the Tualatin River and therefore outside the Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve. A couple minutes after I saw the smoke I heard the fire engines heading to the fire. You can see one of the fire trucks. The other one was hidden by the trees. The Tualatin River is just to the left of the picture. The temperature yesterday was 100 degrees (F) and today it was almost that high. That certainly contributed to the fire.
I haven't bought a new one of these since the first gen Kindle Fire circa 2011 because I've always had an iPad Mini or a Surface or some other device that did mostly the same thing.
Since 2020 has been the year of staying at home, I figured I'd give a new one of these a go as a standalone media device.
