Fire writing on long apperture. I love this picture, wrote down the name of my son. What i like about it is the reflection on the table and of course my son :-)

Had the opportunity tonight to photograph the launching of a fireworks show. Got to do this four years ago, loved the results, and have been hoping since to give it another try!
I need a camera where I can just hold the shutter down for minutes at a time and it can keep up with writing the files to card, though! Half the time I pressed the shutter tonight, nothing happened... because the camera was still too busy writing that last shot burst to the card!
While this very much looks like flames billowing out of this stack, it is actually steam vapor condensing in the 1 degree above zero weather. A night shot, this is atop the US Bank building here in my city of Sheboygan. What gives it the fiery appearance is the backlighting coming from the huge red neon display of time and temp that is just below and out of the frame here...
I pumped up the exposure until it took on this fiery look. In fact, if you look closely you can see the frozen icicles on the outside and top of the vent stack!
High ISO at 2,500..... with my trusty 18-200mm lens..... hand-held, as usual :)
Shot of a match head on fire - I couldn't figure out how to speed up the shutter while getting a good dynamic range. This is the best I did.
