This capture is from one of my dads BBQ's, and I thought it would be cool to take shot of the fire starting :D I love all the figures and shapes that it creates! What kind of figures do you guys see? I kinda see a face on the lower left and a bird on the lower right hand corner of the flame, but maybe that's because I have an over active imagination xD Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!

Southern California beaches are known to have grunion runs, so I took my camera and flashlight out to Corona Del Mar looking for them. The water wasn't super cold, but it was high tide and a few of them caught me by surprise. At the end of the night, my entire bottom half was soaked in sea water, lol.
I wasn't lucky and only managed to find ONE straggling grunion, but the coal that they were burning in the pits were still going, so I took a few shots of those. Fire is such a fascinating thing, and I love the colors!

Everyone gathered around a fire in the back yard of the cabin we stayed at. Tab is sitting on the broken hot tub.

This looks cozy but it was extremely frustrating. The firewood I picked up at a nearby shop looked dry. It felt dry. But it would not catch fire. Two nights in a row a got a good blaze going, but once the kindling was gone, the fire petered out. On the second night I had a huge amount of kindling, enough for twenty minutes of roaring fire, but the logs would only smolder.
