Starting my journey with the my new Mamiya RB67. Took this shot in the morning along a creek bed with the morning sun just above the tree line so there was lots of backlight in this shot making it tricky. Why not pick a difficult shot to get me started with this beautiful piece of machinery.

The RB67 is fully manual and beautifully built. Right off the bat I was able to utilize the very cool rotating film back on the 120 Pro S film cartridge. This is an amazing feature as it allows you to quickly change from a horizontal to a vertical perspective by quickly rotating the film back 90 degrees. No turning the camera on it's side, this comes in very handy when working with a tripod. Imagine having to tilt a camera 90 degrees on a tripod when it weighs over three pounds !!! BTW ..... "RB" stands for "Rotating Back"

When I was deciding to go with 6x7 format, my choice came down to the Pentax 67 or the Mamiya RB67, one of the main reasons for choosing the Mamiya was the convenience of the rotating back as the Pentax is almost as heavy and doesn't offer this flexibility.

The bellows system on the Mamiya also makes for great close up photography.

This particular shot was handheld at f11.0 @ 1/400, I used the magnifier of the viewfinder to ensure I got the milkweed seed and the spider web in focus. I was going to initially shoot at 1/500th but because this was shot close up and the bellows were extended, I opened up by one stop to let a little extra light in.

This was shot with the Mamiya-Sekor 90mm f3.8 lens which is probably equivalent to a 40mm field of view on a 35mm SLR. I had my OM2Sp with me which had the 50mm Zuiko on it and I found that the Mamiya 90mm gave me a bit wider perspective.

I used Kodak T-Max 400 developed in TMAX for 6 3/4 minutes @ 20'C & Ilford Rapid Fix for 8 minutes.

A vast wall of Lushness, couldn't resist taking a shot of this with the Olympus OM-2Sp & 50 mm f1.4 Zuiko loaded with Fuji Neopan 1600.

Shot is very dim light at days end, hand held f2.8 @ 1/125th
