Caitlin and I were on our way to Trout Lake, her first visit there ever (!!!) and we stopped at Multnomah Falls as she'd never seen the waterfalls icy. There is no ends of firsts awaiting us all...
I like the pose and they way my dog was paying attention. I didn't like that it could have been executed better.
these cookies have been a christmas tradition in my family for generations. apparently they were my great-grandfather's favorite cookie and they've grown to be my favorite as well. the cookie is soft and yielding with a filling made of chopped dates and pecans.
since my oven isn't working my mom invited me over to help her with her cookie baking yesterday and we made these. it was my first time making them.
my only gripe with these cookies is that i wish the filling could be more evenly distributed. i really want to try pureeing the filling and using a pastry bag to pipe it onto the bottom layer.

OK, I cant tear myself away from the balloons. This is a shot of an air balloon blownup inside of a water balloon. We shot the water balloon but not the air balloon. This was the outcome.
This was shot with 2 YN460-II flashes, left and right @ 1/20,000

The materials I used were natural light and the Monopoly board game. The idea for this was to just stack the cards and money on different areas of the board. I just wanted this photo to be fill the frame. So I kept taking a bunch of photos from different angles and moving everything around till I got a photo I liked. The process for this was me moving around a lot and having my camera angled a little bit.
I like this picture because it has really good detail on the doll. You can even see the brush strokes from when they painted it. I also like the lighting in it. I like that the doll in the back blends with the background. Overall I like this picture a lot.
Filled in the worn-down area on the shuttler with a dab of JB Weld. Has worked very well. Machine is sewing perfectly now.
