Just a little fun with the Christmas tree ornaments and some festive lighting provided by what can only be described as a "clump" of Christmas tree lights! Amazing what the Meyer Optik 50mm can find with 41.5mm of extention tubes! The dimensions of this image is a bit under an inch square.

A few years ago I made the house and base from paper. The teeny dog is made from threads by a very talented lady in Vietnam. The house is lit from within by two tea lights.

Blumination is the festive light display that is showing at the Village of Blue in Collingwood, Ontario for the month of December. There are colorful lights in the village square but also all around the Mill Pond. Last night we had rain and thunderstorms with tons of sheet lightning. It made for some amazing reflections on the walkway. Crazy weather though! The other displays will be better to shoot when we have had some snow again. Those lights are pretty but all the cords are showing on the ground. Meanwhile, we had a wonderful Sunday evening stroll with dinner between rain showers. It was a great way to get into the Holiday spirit.

The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" for the 27th of December is "festive lighting". This year for Christmas a dear friend gave me some lovely glass ornaments for my Christmas tree, including one of Big Ben. I decided to highlight it by surrounding it with colourful Christmas lights given to me by another, very dear friend, last Christmas. Together I think they make for a striking image. I hope you like my choice of subject for this week's them, and that it makes you smile.
As this is the last "Looking Close on Friday" before the New Year, I should just like to take this opportunity to wish everyone in the group a very happy New Year. May the year ahead be filled with happiness and joy for you all.
