Three of the five Arches of Old Abandoned Bride's Glen Railway Viaduct in Loughlinstown, Dublin, Ireland

This Viaduct carried the old Harcourt Street Railway line. The railway line was closed in 1959 and the track removed. The Luas Green line tram runs on most parts of the old railway line from nearby Brides Glen into Dublin.

It was not possible to get a photo of the entire five Arches of the Viaduct. Also, I had to contend with modern fixtures like power and phone cables.

. . . For the first time in a month, I almost had to wear sunglasses indoors at home! All of my plants in west facing windows were very happy!

Have a great week Facebook and Flickr friends!

Feb 2017 full Moon. Also called the "Snow Moon" or "Hunger Moon". Shot from our front deck with my Nikon D7100 and Sigma 150-600mm lens and 1.5x teleconverter.

This photo was taken in Whitehall during the anti-Trump ban march from the US embassy to Downing Street.

On Friday morning thousands of protesters armed with placards filled most of Grosvenor Square outside the American Embassy in London. They were rallying to demand that prime minister Theresa May repudiate Donald Trump's shameful blanket entry ban on all Syrian, Iraqi, Somali, Yemeni, Iranian, Sudanese and Libyan nationals for the next 90 days as well as the indefinite ban on all Syrian refugees.

Some also demanded that his planned state visit as a guest of the queen be revoked and that the British government also take decisive action to help desparate refugees and ease the conditions within the UK for asylum seekers.

By 11 am an estimated ten thousand had gathered outside the US Embassy for a march on Downing Street organized by the Stop the War Coalition, Stand Up to Racism and the Muslim Association of Britain

Among the most frequent chants heard were "May shame on you", "dump Trump", "build bridges not walls" and "refugees are welcome here". Protesters pointed out that all the countries effected were Muslim majority nations and yet none of the countries targeted had any nationals implicated in any recent terrorist attack within the United States.

Ironically it is US foreign policy in the Middle East, including years of bombing and support for regional dictators that is one of the main causes of the current refugee crisis.

I love how Rosemary grows so well here the scent is just so delicious, plus the flowers are pretty too.

All Saints Episcopal Church is a beautiful building inside and out. I had never noticed the unusual cross that tops the steeple.

In the background a bank tower in downtown Worcester. Overhead a bird has decided to crash the photograph.

What a great day it was...knitting, Sunday Times in the morning, and then we headed out to Bloomington to watch the Oscar nominated action shorts - one of which was a Hungarian movie.

I love Bloomington so much...it is a great university town, it has the laid back liberal vibe I love. We watched the movies on campus in a liberal arts building, technically in a classroom. There were five shorts - all foreign movies, all very different and fantastic in different ways. I really could not tell which one I liked most - and I am obviously biased when there is a Hungarian movie in the mix...anyway, at the end of the show we could pick our favorite on a ballot and they said those who picked the one that actually gets the Oscar, would get a free ticket. And guess what - the Hungarian movie won!!! (I am still waiting to get my notification of the free ticket...)

Anyway, after the movie we went to Le Petit Cafe, a little French restaurant I found on Yelp. I have never heard of this place - apparently it's been around for more than 20 years. A French couple operates it, and I knew I loved the place as soon as we walked in. It is one of those quirky little places, and the owners are quirky in their own ways too. They do not have a menu - each day they cook based on what they find fresh that day (there's a co-op right next door) - so European. The food was quite good, my salmon in a lovely creamy tarragon sauce, Michael had the steak with a garlic-parsley sauce. The dessert was forgettable - but the glass of red I had made up for it, a simple Italian table wine.

All in all, a lovely day indeed.

Anyone know what this is please?

It's linked to this macro I took yesterday:

I visited Dunnottar Castle - a ruined medieval fortress - last week and was amazed by its setting. Unfortunately just before I took this photo the sun disappeared behind the clouds and made the light quite flat. The scene was very blue and I've had to remove a lot of it during post processing.

Car of the oligarchs or car of the people?

Some time ago an idiot in control of a car, (or not in control), managed to drive his car into the bench which used to be in front of this garden wall.

Not only did he wreck the bench, but has done almost irreparable damage to the lovely garden wall.
