I went to meet my lovely friend Meghan for lunch in Goole. We used to do this quite regularly before COVID but this was the first chance we had had since then.
It was so lovely to catch up and I can't wait until we can do it all again!

Aztec style design dress, yet another bargain from eBay.
If you ever get sick of me referencing French words in my writing or think I'm trying to be that cool hipster chick who knows things because she knows how to google translate... well I am a cool hipster chick, no way around it. However, I do have about 7 years (off and on) of French lessons in my background. I can't speak it well and I wish I could hear it quickly, spout the English translation, and dust my hands off...job fini. I can't though. I read it better than I speak it and I continue to have a fascination with it. February in French has always looked like the English word 'fever' to me. Février. When they were creating words they knew a few things. Coming off of Christmas, New Year Resolutions, and a January that felt 10,000 years long (swear that number goes up everytime I talk about January) that February might feel like the feverish aftermath. I mean we could say it is because February is the lovers' month and love is a kind of fever, but Valentine's hasn't been around since the creation of the languages. Plus love gets enough attention as it is 😉.
I meant to post this on the last day of February, but obviously my schedule and my technology are still in the fever of the month. Too bad March isn't saying "Why don't you go back to bed sugar? You look like you could use some sleep and world detox." Can we get 'World Detox' for 2000 Bob?
February you were heavy. You were opening eyes, looking through the hazy harshness of ignorance, and you weren't for everyone. I don't know if you were for me or against me. Sometimes I'm grateful that anxiety brain makes my memory not great. Other times that side effect scares the shit out of me and reminds me of times people have tried to feed me the line "stress is good for you". It literally can eat holes in your memory (science told me) so I'm thinking among other things, no, stress is not good for me.
February was fast. You didn't take chances of dragging on and standing still while it's cold outside...you wanted to get things done. On a productive scale I took a class, I read several eye opening books for (hashtag)Reading Blackout, watched so many movies in prep for Oscars, and I'm trying to step back and do more evaluating. Mostly though, I think I wanted more out of February, but it wasn't standing still long enough for me to figure things out. That's okay. It was a month just like any other and instead of getting all mind crazed over its meaning, we are moving on.
"But I don't wanna live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that you could let it go..." 😉
I was standing in the kitchen this morning and noticed a golden glow spreading across the room. Looking outside, it was apparent that we were about to be treated to a spectacular sunrise! We've had flocks of crows in our neighborhood recently; these were perched on a tree across the street from our house.
My little Sony W-70 that used to take such great snowflake shot died in the hands of one of my students, so I bought another one on eBay. That one just wasn’t doing the macro job like the original. So I ended up taking these with my iPhone 11. Who knew?

Gemma was back in Hull for the weekend again, and we had a night out on Prince's Avenue round a few bars.
We ended up at the Live Lounge again where I did karaoke, but it was an awful performance so I can't bring myself to put the video up on here, ha ha!
