We do not see snow often here where we live. Juniper was NOT amused! She sat and watched and waited patiently at the door, then expected me to make it go away by the time she got to the other door out! :)
We miss Juniper since a year after this, in 2016; always a wild spirit. She was one of Holly #1's only babies.
Happy Caturday!
Basking in the sunshine on the dining table. Taken when it was sunny ... seems ages ago :/. We did have a spot of sun yesterday so went for a short walk - watch this space :))

This is part of a Turkey feather... one of the downy ones. These come in all sizes, from about 10 inches long, to tiny ones a centimeter long.
Take a look at this to understand how turkeys, and other birds, stay alive through the cold of winter. Pack a bunch of these downy feathers next to your skin and you won't feel the cold much.
I have put one of these feathers on the palm of my hand, and then blown on my hand. The wind doesn't come through... the palm of my hand doesn't feel me blowing, if there is a downy feather there.
Nothing like being the first to venture out and witness sights like this.
However I apologize to who ever comes by after me. I made a real mess of the fresh snow when I slid down the bank to get to this spot. :))!
From southern Africa. At the botanical garden. Blooming now, also in many private gardens.
