I made this block as a part of the House Block Bee. I enjoyed working with all of the animals, especially the raccoon in the knothole of the tree.

February started off with a snow storm, so breakfast was waffles, bacon and eggs; cheeseburgers for a late lunch/early dinner; and finally, I made cookies. And we deserved it all.

These photos were taken on 17th of February in Sofia, Bulgaria where a protest against the power companies currently in service was organised. Although these companies were involved in corrupt activities and some even proven to have violated multiple legislation, there was heavy police and riot-police presence throughout the protest. There were clashes when the crowd reached the main office of the power company serving Sofia and that's when the police's complete lack of hesitation to use brutal force was evident. Riot police armed with shield and bats stormed into the crowd hitting people in their way. Fortunately no protestants were badly hurt.

This is the first wildlflower to bloom in the Columbia River Gorge this time of year. "Grass Widow" [Sisyrinchium douglasii ]. Iris family. Somewhat small in size...low to the ground.

Due to the mild climate next to the Mediterranean Sea the first trees, like this Mimosa, starts blossoming already in February. I have to admit I do enjoy that when the majority of Europe is still covered in snow and ice, I can already see the first signs of spring in my neighbourhood. 60 degree February day in DC. Grabbed the fixie and split early from Capitol Hill for a ride up the Capitol Crescent to Bethesda. Took a quick break at the Georgetown Waterfront to snap a pic of the Raleigh with the Watergate and Kennedy Center in the background.

Early season crocuses bloom during a warm stretch late in February. It's sharp contrast to the early March weather we're having today, as a strong Nor Easter is looming over us today.

sorry guys, this is cheating, it was taken february 10. BUT, legit excuse, i was on the airplane for all of this day, and used that picture for february 10...if you know what i mean. yes, traveling becomes quite complicated when crossing time-zones, i apologize.
but here i am at the moulin rouge standing ontop of a vent that was shooting out FREEZING COLD air into the already freezing environment, but we all risked it to get some adorable photos.

This was taken through the pinhole side so this is redscaled (and back to front too).

Yarn: 3.5 skeins Cascade 220 Heathers
Needles: US 7
Notes: I love this sweater. The pattern is nice and simple but the gull lace pattern keeps it interesting. I had heard from others that their sweaters grew considerably after blocking so with that in mind, I knit the total length of the sweater a good inch shorter than I'd actually wanted. It fits perfectly.
Realizing I'm a year and a half behind on posting pics, I'm going to try posting by month, and play a bit of catch up. Presenting February of '17 .
