Two long-distance drivers stop at a motorway service station to break up their journey. It's around a five hour drive from the heavy industry and smokestacks of the Taiyuan coalfield down off the Shanxi plateau to the East China plain. It's another five hours to reach Tianjin, the main export port for North China. In recent years Chinese motorways have become almost as extensive as those of the USA or Europe, with most of the several hundred cities with a population over 500,000 now linked to the network. Rates of private car ownership are still much lower here than in developed countries though, and the majority of the motorway traffic is long-distance buses and the heavy goods vehicles. Unfortunately there seems to be no system of fast lane and slow lane yet established on Chinese motorways though, and bottlenecks are common as these large vehicles battle for space.

My lil Blazer 4 wheel drive is faster than most around here.... Heh heh.....
I have reprogrammed the computer, so there is no longer a govornor at 97 MPH as set at the factory. On level ground, if I lift my foot from the accelerator, it takes about 6 seconds before the needle drops off the peg at 100 MPH. I'd like to see how fast it is. There are plenty faster that have expensive mods done or v-8 engine swaps, but I'm strictly "LOW BUDGET" : )
