We were very surprised to see at least 10 new-born lambs in October, on the Breitenstein above Eberbach (Neckartal). They were frolicking about on the meadows, looking healthy and happy. This mother, however, rather looks like she is wondering: 'Why me??!'
The farmer at Stool End Farm certainly wasn't taking any chances when it came to identifying his flock. The bright orange markings certainly made these hardy Herdwick sheep stand out. I assume that the farmer had rounded up his flock and brought them down to warmer less hospitable conditions. Mind you, these Herdwick sheep are well known foreign able to eke out a life up on the high fells. Pike of Stickle is the prominent summit in the background.
We would soon leave the sheep behind and head off up into the snow for a memorable day.
A farm near what was once known as Kripplebush, NY. The farm seems to have been active until the beautiful old stone farmhouse succumbed to a fire several years back.
More old buildings where you wouldn't expect them. This is part of what used to be a potato farm. On Long Island. Note...touched up version of something already seen
Dark November at the entrance to Mill Farm. The black globes in the trees are clumps of mistletoe.

Näränä Wilderness Farm is a rental cottage that anyone can rent for a short period of time.
At the Näränä wilderness farm, you can get to know the life of a farmer living in the backwoods of Kuusamo, as it was in the first half of the 20th century.
The place is owned by the Finnish Forestry Commission.
Närängän erämaatila on vuokramökki, jonka kuka tahansa voi vuokrata lyhyeksi ajaksi.
Närängän erämaatilalla voi tutustua Kuusamon salomailla asuneen viljelijän elämään, millaista se oli 1900 -luvun alkupuoliskolla.
Paikka on Metsähallituksen omistuksessa.
An easy rural scene for you this fine day. Sometimes I wish I lived on a farm. I would not be able to do the hard work involved and absolutely appreciate what they provide for us.
But I wish I could just spend leisure time on one. It would make me happy.

Enjoyed a bit of farm pond fishing last night with my brother. Nothing huge but we caught some bass.
