False alarm

This 'false sun' (due to ice crystals) was visible on 16th June in Newport. It was unusual in that 2 of them could be seen equidistantly from the sun in the evening sky (about 7pm). The first one is in the earlier image posted.

I think this is called it False Creek because it doesn't go anywhere, it just looks like a creek, well, more like a small harbor. Names aside, a cool section of Vancouver.

Found this little girl in the flat last night. Steatoda grossa, the False Widow spider. A close relation to the Black Widow, and not a true native of the UK, but are being found in increasing numbers and packs a nasty bite. Beautiful thing though.
