While there was no red deer fighting during the rut the fallow deer stags were very active, here two equal strong stags are fighting...we could watch this fight for almost 30 minutes. Forstenrieder Park, Munich, Germany
One foggy autumn morning i was surprised by this beautiful black fallow deer stag walking towards me on the leave covered road. Love those wildlife surprises, Forstenrieder Park, Munich, Germany
Fallow deer, particularly the youngsters, are such charming creatures. Very photogenic too, I always think.
This little guy was photographed in Bradgate park in Leistershire.

I met this fallow fawn in the forest of our local wildlife park. It's a little girl, very cute and very curious, but I could only watch her from a long distance. She tried to sneak closer to me but her mother noticed what she did and stopped her. The does are always extremely careful around humans when they have fawns.
Credit for the composition here must go to Gladys, a new friend & fellow photography enthusiast, who spotted this handsome Fallow buck on this rocky outcrop. Maybe he was using the high ground to survey his patch, keeping an eye out for females, or rival males, perhaps.

Today Pauls Pix 53 went to Knole (National Trust), and it rained all day. But we still enjoyed wandering around and spotting the deer. Plus the chilli bean stew at lunch time in the cafe, was nice and spicy and warming.
