This is from my archives. This is as the title states, Timm's Hill County Park. My husband thought it'd be pretty cool to go to the highest point in the state, and as it turns out, they've got a tower there besides!
After being surveyed in 1962, Timms Hill was discovered to have an elevation of 1,951.2 feet (595 m). It is located less than 1 mile south of Highway 86, about midway between Ogema and Spirit, and about 23 miles west of Tomahawk,
So this is a shot of our climbing to the top of the hill, nearly to the tower at this point. Quite the sight! I've posted a picture of that in the past. Hope you all enjoy!

At the height of a good foliage season in Maine, the colors are unbelievable. They span just about the full visible spectrum of color. These are captured from Hirundo Wildlife Refuge, a gorgeous natural location in Old Town and Alton, Maine. This place is beautiful in all seasons, but in the Autumn, it really shines. I encourage you to visit if you get the chance!

I heard it was because it was so dry in New England this year (and colder than usual.) This is near wetlands, where the color changes first, but it is still September.
This was taken on Nov 24th, 2009 from one of the overlooks along the road to Crater Lake. I went to this spot a few days ago (Nov 21, 2010), almost one year to the day, and saw the exact same scene... This shot begged to be posted -- Delaware Water Gap NRA

With the fall colors waning in Vermont it's easier to focus on the individual tree. Any tree with yellow leaves is typically the last to lose their color. This one stuck out like a sore thumb. Fall takes on a different kind of beauty now.
I was glad when I heard my Red-bellied Woodpecker this afternoon. I hadn't heard or seen him in a couple weeks and was afraid one of our Hawks may have gotten him.
The was working on a hole on this branch when a Downy showed up on a branch above him and this is him telling the Downy to hit the road.
Along the northern edge of the hayfield, these oaks get full sun, which they love. They were little trees when we moved here 35 years ago.
Partly blurred due to wind but I like the golden color or almost terracotta and the bokeh/dof myself ;) What do you think?
A view across the Rock River at Castle Rock State Park near Oregon,IL. A especially dry late summer may mute the fall colors here in our area of the Midwest. Peak colors are still a few weeks away....
The Sugar Maples are turning early this year, mostly orange. I got a few shots, but I'll miss all the rest, as we are heading off [at a bad time of year].
This shot is from last year, but this is what the fields look like now, at about 50% color. So sorry about those wires ...
This is a smal waterfall I discovered a few weeks ago when I went out on a country road I had been on before looking for subjects to photograph. I stopped to take pictures of a cattail marsh and when I got out of the car, I could hear the water from across the road. Since it was autumn and the leaves had fallen, it was easier to see it. It was a very sweet discovery that brought me joy.
Have a great Tuesday.
