taken at Shunpu Banri So, the former residence of Japanese artist Kitaoji Rosanjin, located in Kasama, Ibaraki, Japan:
The Pentax DA* 300mm is an incredible lens. Even though I'm the one who took it, I can't believe that there wasn't any saturation or sharpness added to the RAW file before converting. A good testament to what can be done with good light and an even better lens.
I was working on all of the fall foliage photos I had taken, when we had the sudden snowstorm. Now, the 6" of snow we received has disappeared and everything is brown. November...my least favorite month (although March is a close second).
The neighbor's driveway, which is long and lined with maple trees.
Below is a video of the same lane, if you like seeing trees and want to take a little walk up with me.
Today is the beginning of autumn.
The first trees are changing color in the Eifel and in the morning there are more or less clouds of fog over the landscape, the beginning of a wonderful time for me.
Heute ist Herbstanfang.
Die ersten Bäume färben sich in der Eifel und morgens ziehen mehr oder weniger Nebelschwaden über der Landschaft, Beginn einer herrlichen Zeit für mich.
Just a few acres in size, but it's a nice sight to drive past, especially when the water reflects the opposite shore. The "headwaters" of this little pond are right up the road on our farm, and it becomes a brook that makes its way to the Susquehanna River.
One more shot from Glacier's Two Medicine Lake.
Not a problem enjoying a snack on this well-located table this day.
No one else around. The view was superb.
Happy Friday!
Maples at their peak of color, on every hillside. Autumn in the foothills of New York!!
The bare trees are most likely Ash trees, which lose their leaves very early in the season. Or perhaps they are dead or dying Ash.
SOOC shot - amazing viewed large.
I spotted this across the river while driving. By the time I found a place to pull over and got in position, the sun had disappeared behind clouds and I had to wait 20 minutes before it came back to shine a spotlight on those trees! I’m glad I waited!

The right side of this house faces west and is literally blown apart. The left side, not shown, is in perfect condition. Located in northern Kentucky near the Walcott Covered bridge in Bracken County.
