Beautiful sight after 5 miles of hike yesterday...

Thank you for your visit/comment/fave; have a pleasant day!

Having fun getting in the fall colors before they are all gone, love to get shot with red and orange in them.

Shot taken near Town Lake in Austin, Texas

Taken in the early morning in the Countrywood neighborhood of Walnut Creek, California.

A quick shot taken yesterday afternoon outside the back door of my parents house. The color here in Connecticut right now is very surprising given our serious serious drought.

The Pentax DA* 300mm is an incredible lens. Even though I'm the one who took it, I can't believe that there wasn't any saturation or sharpness added to the RAW file before converting. A good testament to what can be done with good light and an even better lens.

Fall plant life on the walk around the Bellingham yacht basin

The neighbor's driveway, which is long and lined with maple trees.

Below is a video of the same lane, if you like seeing trees and want to take a little walk up with me.

It's getting a little late to post fall foliage photos, as most of the leaves have fallen now. These three photos were taken last month on the same pond with varying wind conditions.

Just a few acres in size, but it's a nice sight to drive past, especially when the water reflects the opposite shore. The "headwaters" of this little pond are right up the road on our farm, and it becomes a brook that makes its way to the Susquehanna River.

There's a little bit of fall foliage in Harvard Yard (this was last weekend), but I'm having trouble finding any other colorful leaves around here. Apparently there is a drought going on and the leaves are too dry to change colors, instead they just dry up and fall off. (I didn't notice the drought until now; being from LA this doesn't seem very drought-like to me but I guess it is by local standards).

If you've seen any beautiful changing leaves around the Boston area, please tell me where they are! I had the idea of checking out places where someone is taking care of the trees, but no luck at the Mt Auburn Cemetery yesterday. I'm thinking of trying the arboretum this weekend...

Maples at their peak of color, on every hillside. Autumn in the foothills of New York!!

The bare trees are most likely Ash trees, which lose their leaves very early in the season. Or perhaps they are dead or dying Ash.

SOOC shot - amazing viewed large.

The end of October, to be exact. Color was late to arrive this year [just like the cold weather and snow were late].

A quiet country lane winds through the heart of Cades Cove, framed by weathered fence posts, rolling pastures, and a towering oak glowing with autumn color. Morning light filters through layers of mist and mountain ridges, illuminating a tapestry of gold, amber, and crimson that defines fall in the Great Smoky Mountains.

Sparks Lane is one of the most iconic and beloved scenes in the park—where time slows and the landscape feels untouched. This photograph captures the peaceful rhythm of rural Appalachia, inviting the viewer to wander down the road and into the stillness of the season.

Yellow River Forest, Iowa

It's another day with temperatures not much above 10 degrees [F]. These shots from mid-October bring back some good memories!

The yellow tree is a Sugar maple; the rest are Red Maples, mostly past their peak of color.

Some foliage photos I took along the pond in front of the house today, we are still enjoying a bit of color.
