I spent most of yesterday looking for some autumn color to shoot. Well, that's not quite right. I didn't have to look very far to find something to shoot because right now here in western Newfoundland it looks like we're living on top of a giant pumpkin! Seriously.
What I meant was, I was looking for something different ... or somewhere different ... I hadn't shot before. And, I did manage to do that, but I still couldn't resist going back and shooting some of the old familiar stuff as well ... but, tried to shoot it from a slightly different point of view.
Having fun getting in the fall colors before they are all gone, love to get shot with red and orange in them.

A quick shot taken yesterday afternoon outside the back door of my parents house. The color here in Connecticut right now is very surprising given our serious serious drought.
The Pentax DA* 300mm is an incredible lens. Even though I'm the one who took it, I can't believe that there wasn't any saturation or sharpness added to the RAW file before converting. A good testament to what can be done with good light and an even better lens.
The neighbor's driveway, which is long and lined with maple trees.
Below is a video of the same lane, if you like seeing trees and want to take a little walk up with me.
It's getting a little late to post fall foliage photos, as most of the leaves have fallen now. These three photos were taken last month on the same pond with varying wind conditions.

The Tahquamenon Falls State Park is a 46,179-acre state park in Upper Michigan. The water is brown in color from the tannins leached from the cedar, spruce, and hemlock in the swamps drained by the river.

Just a few acres in size, but it's a nice sight to drive past, especially when the water reflects the opposite shore. The "headwaters" of this little pond are right up the road on our farm, and it becomes a brook that makes its way to the Susquehanna River.
Lithia Park, Ashland, Oregon. Another long exposure of Ashland Creek at Lithia Park. There are literally dozens of great little spots to shoot here. While I was setting up to shoot this 3 deer approached the stream just opposite me, unfortunately I couldn't get a good shot of them, then they were gone.
Maples at their peak of color, on every hillside. Autumn in the foothills of New York!!
The bare trees are most likely Ash trees, which lose their leaves very early in the season. Or perhaps they are dead or dying Ash.
SOOC shot - amazing viewed large.
I spotted this across the river while driving. By the time I found a place to pull over and got in position, the sun had disappeared behind clouds and I had to wait 20 minutes before it came back to shine a spotlight on those trees! I’m glad I waited!

The end of October, to be exact. Color was late to arrive this year [just like the cold weather and snow were late].
It's another day with temperatures not much above 10 degrees [F]. These shots from mid-October bring back some good memories!
The yellow tree is a Sugar maple; the rest are Red Maples, mostly past their peak of color.
Embracing the autumnal palette in Bastenakenstraat, Amsterdam. The trees adorn vibrant hues of red, casting a warm and inviting glow over the street. Nature's masterpiece unfolds, turning the urban landscape into a canvas of seasonal splendor. 🍁 #Bastenakenstraat #AmsterdamFall
There is just something so special when seasons collide. Having just the right amount of snow surrounding an aspen forest is so magical. If you can add a mountain with clouds blowing off the top....smiles all around!!!
