There was plenty of color at the outlet of this pond as sunset approached - yet the reflections were mostly black.
This flower amazes me, and I have no idea what it is. It came from my daughter who has a similar huge thicket of them. They are perennials and come back every year.
These pure yellow flowers go on for several weeks as blooms open along the stalk.
It's another day with temperatures not much above 10 degrees [F]. These shots from mid-October bring back some good memories!

SOOC colors. Not every day brings shots like these. I take photos every day, but with greatly varying results, This is the purest color of the season so far - it reminds me of the color slides I used to take using Kodachrome film. I credit the clear, low humidity air that day.
This was taken on Nov 24th, 2009 from one of the overlooks along the road to Crater Lake. I went to this spot a few days ago (Nov 21, 2010), almost one year to the day, and saw the exact same scene... This shot begged to be posted -- Delaware Water Gap NRA

I heard it was because it was so dry in New England this year (and colder than usual.) This is near wetlands, where the color changes first, but it is still September.
Morristown is the county seat of Morris County in New Jersey located about 25 miles from New York City. It is a city rich with history, a key location for the Continental army not one winter but two winters during the American Revolution. Morristown was originally settled by English Presbyterians in 1715. At Dickerson’s Tavern on Spring Street Benedict Arnold was court-martialed because of charges that he was guilty of profiteering from military supplies in Philadelphia. Founding father Alexander Hamilton met and courted his wife Betsy Schuyler who was from Albany but her family kept a home in Morristown. This image is of the fall foliage in early November 2014, as it is basically at peak with all variation of leaf color visible from this vantage point.
