James S. had a hunting camp in Spring Lake, NC, which he deeded to the Nature Conservancy.. Little has been done to the buildings since his death in 2004. It was barren , dark and musty inside, but the beauty of the heartwood longleaf pine still glowed.
I think i slid every option available in iPhotos to try to release some of that beauty lurking in the dark image.

Always stay well back from rushing water in Yosemite, and do not swim or even wade in any pool above a waterfall. Be very careful around wet rocks. Over the years, quite a few people have been swept over waterfalls in Yosemite.
There was an article in the newspaper the other day about the garden center I go to, and how cool-weather favorite pansies often survive the area’s winter temperatures. I planted these in the railing planter that my squirrel friends like to dig up – let’s see if the pansies survive either ;-)
