I was standing on the Island Park Marina when I took this. It was a foggy Saturday morning, the sun was out for just a few minutes and allowed me to catch these brilliant colors.

Stone walls like this are typical of New England. My grandfather was thrown from a horse and died after hitting his head on one before my mother was born. He must have been somewhat of a risk taker. We found out that he seemed to spend most of his time at Dartmouth College suspended. He settled down and got a law degree. He also became a pilot and flew over the camp my grandmother worked at as it was run by her college. Apparently he dropped love letters to her all over the camp. That was probably around 1920. She left college to marry him but lost him just a few years later. That's all we know about him but we were amused by his less than illustrious history at Dartmouth.

This Holga neg was a little too contrasty with the used filter (2,5). There was no differentiation between the white bark and the grass in the background. A softer grade would be bad for the shadows, so I decided for a split exposure with dodging the deep shadows during yellow light and instead burning the lights I did a two tray development.
