Here is another image taken with my 50mm f/1.8 Series E manual focus lens from forty years ago. This lens has absolutely no distortion and is very sharp. It also is very inexpensive.
Yes, fall is nearing the later stages and winter will soon be here. We have had very few spurts of cold weather thus far, so maybe it will be a milder winter here in the mid-Atlantic.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the day!
The leaves are falling fast now, and I was fortunate to capture this shot last week before the winds came.

The last wildflower to bloom in our woods is White Snakeroot. There is a line along the woodland edge robust with white flowers from late summer into fall. Apparently the foliage is toxic.

The "Tag Game" theme - fall coat.
Since I just received the gorgeous patent leather trench coat from Elenpriv - a "hot" example of a fall coat.
Perfectly shiny weather protection for wind and rain - ideal for autumn.
Does my Kesenia Hourglass look perfect - right?
Took a walk in the woods as the sun was just getting high enough to filter down through the leaves. Very pretty! Taken near the Shenandoah National Park in VA
Fall is so short around the Pacific Northwest. The sweet spot lasts just a few weekends and there never seems to be enough time or days to get out and take advantage of prime conditions. The Columbia River Gorge is underrated in terms of a fall shooting conditions. Yes, the color palette is dominated mostly by yellow on top of green, with some brownish red thrown in, but the sheer volume of subject matter quickly makes up for this low range of colors. This little section of creek has become one of my favorites over since I first shot it this past spring. Lighting is crucial as the amount of light reaching the bottom of this canyon can really change the mood and dynamics of an image. On this day Scott Miller and I had near perfect conditions, with bright overcast skies, some fog, and virtually no wind. Whenever you drive past Cascade Locks and see nothing but glass on the Columbia River you know it’s going to be a good day.
