This Saturday's Patrick Healy Dinner will celebrate @Georgetown Georgetown University's African-American alumni community and supports the academic success of current students through financial aid. The dinner is named for Patrick Healy, S.J., Georgetown's President from 1873-1881 and the first person of African descent to stand at the helm of a major U.S. university. We'll be honoring writer-director-producer Malcolm D. Lee (C'92), pictured below, with the Samuel A. One day, Rebecca Kuang (F’18) decided to write 2,000 words a day. Three months later she had her first novel of a three-book deal with HarperCollins Publishing. Her debut novel, The Poppy War, draws on themes from Asian history and mythology, making for a compelling historical fantasy novel.
