Out of the bosom of the Air,
Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken,
Over the woodlands brown and bare,
Over the harvest-fields forsaken,
Silent, and soft, and slow
Descends the snow.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Here are some memories of summer, when I stayed together with my girl Tess at her cabin in the woods. The surroundings are beautiful and you can just walk out of the cabin straight into the forest, and after a few minutes you get to this place. Just look around: it's beautiful here!
Thank you Tess for being you, for being my girl and for taking this week's pictures of me.
First attempt at capturing light beams filtering down through foliage! This is one of my absolute favorite moments in nature. #imperfect365
Martyrs' forest is on the outskirts of Jerusalem. It is on the western edge of Eshtaol Forest near Beit Meir. It was planted as a memorial to those who died in the Holocaust and will eventually contain six million trees, symbolizing the six million Jews who perished at the hands of the Nazis in World War II.
Last night I dreamed of a forest, so I got up this morning and painted it.
This started out with torn strips of masking tape laid out on the paper, and then I used Watercolor, and a tiny bit of acrylic at the end, but most of the white is from just leaving white spaces and also the white left when I took off the masking tape.
No pre drawing.
I was coming home through a heavy Lake effect (big flakes) snow storm at midnight last night after babysitting while my kids went to Opening Night of the Ballet...The drive home was very beautiful and I felt very safe being driven home by my son-in-law who is a Fireman. Beautiful forest lines the road home.
Maybe that's why I had the dream...:)
On our second day in Washington we did a hike to Marymere falls in Olympic National Park. Today I am going to post 5 photos taken on the trail to the falls as there was so much beauty to be seen in the forest along the trail. I love moss and ferns and old trees and there was no shortage of any of those things on this trail.
