So this is the carnage that ensues from having a car backed out of a driveway with the door wide open and a collision with a solid frozen pile of snow. it basically friggn bent the door back the OPPITITE direction than the way its supposed to go.

it ripped the side panaling, the door, and the front fender to hell.

$2000 of damage when all fixits are done and my cars back to new condition.

and no, i didnt do it, in fact i was sleeping when it happened, my dad gets the title as the first person to damage my car.

im not really mad at him. hes paying and taxi'ing me all the next week or two.

Sculpt update on the Space Jockey - 1:18 scale - ALIEN (79).

Material used - Aves FIXIT Sculpt from Aves Clay

Completed the sculpt of the "control sticks" for each hand, "the interface" and detail along the back of the pilot's chair. I want to tackle the upper rear of the pilot chair before moving onto another project. Been a couple additional weeks than I planned to work on this piece but I'm "in the zone" so to speak and want to continue while not suffering a loss of interest. I'm doing this in my own time and not for a client so I have that luxury.

Crazy to think I look at this piece as becoming an "action figure accessory" or some part of a 1:18 scaled play set. It's where my mindset is...always has been since this ALIEN 79 project started. It just so happens that it's a sculpture study at the same time LOL!

I've taken care to be as accurate as possible to the Giger production version of the doomed pilot but I'm sure a few spots have emerged as "best interpretation" at this point. I'm not looking to be 100% spot on. I don't think anyone who has taken on this project has. I hope those of you who are die hard Space Jockey fans will be forgiving.

it's all very spacey. not kevin. space, like in verdensrommet. outer.

Lots of it. For cool beers on the beach.

Caren runs a group called fixit harrow, she is a single parent, works and goes to university, as well as dedicating her spare time to helping the community. Her group helps members of the community to identify issues and helps solve them, actively notifying the council, mps and the correct departments needed. Caren will give her time and energy to anybody needing advice or help, homeless, charities, or rven just things that are going on in the area. Shes amazing!

Sculpt progress for the Nostromo crew - Sleep Chamber - Alien 79 - 1:18 scale.

"Sleeping" Ripley is next. Taking the castings I made of my "Space Undies" Ripley (Narcissus) shown last week, a couple of head casts from my Warrant Officer Ripley figure, a Dremel, some sculpt tools, sandpaper and a heat gun, I've created two frames of Ripley sleeping in both the Nostromo and Narcissus sleep chambers.

Next step will be sculpting the upper bodies, filling the seams, adding the arms and fitting the figures properly into their sleep pods. Takes a ton of dremeling, sculpting, sanding and filling...but it's all well worth it.

Nostromo version will feature Ripley topless as it was originally intended. The Narcissus version will feature her in a robe.

Both will have a small sculpt of Jonesy curled up and sleeping

My favorite head sculpt of the 8 head lot - LOL! And it doesn't even appear in the cinematic trailer trilogies...well, mostly. Darth Malgus as he may have appeared leading up to the events to the sacking of Alderaan...which didn't go so well. I'm using the same rage sculpt as the acolyte version but added the face guards and reworked the paint sculpt. I highlighted the eyes a touch in photoshop for a dramtic look - if you haven't figured it out by now - he's pissed!

I did some casting to build a couple of corridor walls for deck A of the Nostromo. These two corridor walls are full resin casts and are about 90% complete in build - need to add a control panel or two as well as a few additional tubes/wire. Everything you see in these images are cast pieces from molds that came from scratch builds (for exception of the Parker and Brett figures). I'm very close to completing all corridors leading from the galley of the ship. All I need to do it create the flooring....which means some laser work is about to go out soon. #alien #nostromo #sith_fire30

Some sculpt work on a Star Wars related figure! Dass Jennir with Steed. Star Wars: Dark Times (Dark Horse Comics) - 1:18 scale. Work on the beast adding detail to the head, sculpting the tail (not detailed yet) and working out the balance of the figure. For Jennir I complete the covered version of the head sculpt adding a magnet to the top of the head which will hold the hat in place. ‪#‎starwars‬ ‪#‎darkhorse‬ ‪#‎longlivethetrueeu‬ ‪#‎dassjennir‬ ‪#‎darktimes‬ ‪#‎sith_fire30‬

Sculpt update on The Queen - (Aliens 86) and the Egg Morpher (Aliens: Defiance). All 1:18 scale, sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt by Aves Studio LLC.

Began sculpting the lower jaw of the Queen. Started with a rough sculpt of the jaw, eyeballing the proportion and adding addition girth to the sculpt that once cured can be reduced through carving and sanding.

You can see my progression via the images attached. The next step will be to add a separate gumline that will include a set of lower teeth. Again, separate from the jaw so I can cast the piece in clear resin when it's time for replication.

The "neck" of the queen will need to be reworked once the master casts have been made. I'm using the smaller Revoltech Queen figure as an articulation reference for much of the articulation points for my sculpt.

For the Eggmorpher from Defiance, I've been sculpting the details to the back of the creature including the "pipes" as I like to call them as well as the separate spinal piece that emerges just below the back of the neck.

Next challenge for this sculpt will be the hands and the upper legs.

I've got a ton of pieces to mold and cast. And since just getting over a bad illness and this hurricane scare, it put me off a couple weeks. Sorry about that. I will always try for sure to get one update a week...don't want anyone to think I've fallen off LOL!

Hope you enjoyed the update! Always, more to come!

Sculpt update on the Queen. ALIENS (86) - 1:18 scale. Work in progress.

Began sculpting the teeth. More precise, the maxillary teeth (upper jaw). First I built the upper maxilla that will fit separately in the head, marking each point where the teeth will be inserted. What I love about FIXIT is that during it's final hour of curing, you can carefully shape pieces to fit other parts of the sculpt without it permanently attaching or curing to that particular part. Example, the maxilla which I shaped to fit the roof of the mouth. This will help in molding and replication later.

Next was to sculpt each tooth, two at a time, one on either side. Once fully cured, I carve the teeth into shape using dental tools, giving them the appearance of settling into the gum line of the maxilla. So this process of sculpting, curing, carving took a good week to complete.

While that was going on I sculpting more detail to the head, This version will feature the lips fully extended, mouth fully drawn taut. I intend to do another version of the head having the mouth partially closed and relaxed.

Still refining the teeth. I need to fill in some spots and reduce others. Then I will add gum tissue around each tooth. This piece will later be cast in clear resin so I may have the teeth appear to be translucent.

More to come!! Will begin working on the lower jaw soon then back to other projects that deserve some attention.

Sculpt update on "Sleeping Ripley" and Jonesy the Cat - ALIEN 79 - Nostromo 1:18 scale.

I haven't had as much time as I would have liked to work on this piece last week but from what progress I've made, I'm hoping that I can complete both sleeping versions of Ripley - one for the Nostromo Sleep Chamber and the other for the Narcissus by the end of the weekend.

For this update, I've attached the upper arms/shoulders to the torso, as well as sculpted the boxers each crew member wears while in their pod. Next step will be the lower arms, sculpting the hands, then fitting the figure properly into the pod. No progress yet on the Narcissus version but that will change after tonight's session.

May sound a little silly seeing that many consider these current projects as "customs" ...but I've treated these static sculpt projects as if they were classical studies. I'm usually sculpting monsters or alien bodies so sculpting the human form is a real treat. Especially the female form which I consider a challenge.

...and Jonesy the cat. I completed the sculpt of him in a sitting pose a couple years back. Next will be a standing pose featuring a ball jointed neck and a sleeping version of Jonesy all curled up that will fit in both sleep chambers along with Ripley! I plan to do one additional variant of Jonesy hissing!!

Quick update I know - more to come, promise. Had some fun with the camera this time around on some of the shot. Just found them interesting. #alien #ripley #jonesthecat #jonesy #nostromo #alien79 #sigourneyweaver #sleepchamber #humanform #sculpting #art

Build progress on the Narcissus Shuttle interior - 1:18 scale - ALIEN 79. I decided to go ahead and build the wall panel opposite from the "stowaway" section as to keep everything balanced. As before, I'm using sheet styrene to build the frame for the wall - More detailing will come once the basic build is complete. I'm building the complete interior of the shuttle - panel by panel. I had in mind that once I was finished building the interior, I would build the exterior around it...but...now that I've realized how big this interior may become, building the exterior may not be realistic. IT CAN BE DONE, don't get me wrong, but I don't have the room to go that big..which is why I keep everything modular. Anyway, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it...‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎narcissus‬ ‪#‎diorama‬ ‪#‎scratchbuilding‬

AIRSHIP 27 PRODUCTION

Proudly Presents

GREG HATCHER’S DR. FIXIT

Greg Hatcher (1960-2021) of Burien, Washington, was a dedicated teacher and one of the finest New Pulp writers of the past decade. Of all his magnificent short stories and novels, one of his most unique creations was that of Ernie Voskovec, a genius engineering mechanic who created the tools and weapons for super villains. He was known as Dr. Fixit.

Dr. Fixit debut in Airship 27’s Mystery Men (& Women) Vol 6 in the story, “Henching It With Dr. Fixit.” The story was so well received, Hatcher followed it with two other tales; “Pimpin’ Your Supercar” Mystery Men (& Women) Vol 7 and “Dr. Fixit’s Getaway” in Mystery Men (& Women) Vol 8. Greg passed away in Oct of 2021 before completing a fourth story.

When Greg’s wife, Julie Hatcher, informed Airship 27 Production Managing Editor Ron Fortier, of that unfinished story, he and Art Director Rob Davis, made the decision to do a special tribute collection in Greg’s memory. While Davis collected the three published tales along with the illustrations he had done for them, Fortier recruited veteran pulp scribe Fred Adams Jr. to take on the task of completing the last Dr. Fixit Greg had begun before his passing. After reading and studying the first three adventures, Adams picked the manuscript entitled “Looking For Dr. Fixit” and brought the tale to a truly wonderful and fitting conclusion.

Now Airship 27 Production is thrilled to announce the release of “Greg Hatcher’s Dr. Fixit” containing all for the Dr. Fixit stories. The book not only contains all of Davis’ illustrations by sports a great cover by artist Chris Kohler and a special introduction by Julie Hatcher. It is our hope this book honor the memory of a truly gifted writer and of New Pulp’s most cherished creators.

AIRSHIP 27 PRODUCTION – PULP FICTION FOR A NEW GENERATION!

a.k.a. the grey hulk. brains and brawn in one package.

Began work on the frames of the first three characters form the 1979 Alien film - Ripley, Dallas and Ash. Still need to reduce a bit more for Dallas and Ash - I have placed magnets in place of the joints for the waist of Dallas and Ash so to switch out upper bodies with alternate sculpts. The next 4 head sculpts are in the works - Kane, Parker, Lambert and Bret.

That's right!!! If i am going to create the cast of ALIEN I might as well produce some dioramas for the figures to exist in! I love the production artwork in ALIEN - Fun to recreate the scenes in 1:18 scale! More coming soon!

Nostromo Build Update - ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. Update to the Ladderwell and Ladder. So I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for the ladderwell build. I'm having to clean up seam lines, block in interiors all before molding and casting the piece. Last night I began building the ladder itself and what I thought was going to become an arduous task actually turned out quite simple. Just fused two pieces of sheet styrene together, plotted cut lines and with the help of my dremel tool, and xacto blade and sandpaper I have a pretty sturdy ladder which holds the custom figures quite well. Next up, the floor and my first ceiling build! ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎ladderwell‬ ‪#‎diorama‬ ‪#‎ripley‬ ‪#‎starship‬ ‪#‎scratchbuilding‬ ‪#‎styrene‬

Bin so was von froh!!

(NP: 1600,-)...

Ringe umgedreht wieder einlegen.

So our plumbing has some SERIOUS problems yesterday. Namely, that when you ran the hot water, this is what would come out. Looks like a really high rust concentration to me.

I ran and got my camera to document the scene. After I drained the tub, it looked like I had just scrubbed down after a murder. Dang!

Luckily it's all fixed now :-)

Completed 1:18 scale, 4.25" tall sculpt of Darth Malgus - Sith Lord from the Lucasarts/Bioware MMO game Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Figure is a complete sculpt using a custom articluated frame as it's armature. The 8 different heads have all been sculpted and hand painted - each depicting a window of time in the life of Malgus and inspired by the cinematic trilogies created by Blur Studios: Return, Hope and Deceived.

All armor is hand sculpted and original. The chest and left shoulder armor are removable and can be replaced with "battle damaged" armor as an alternate. Hood is a sculpted piece and works along side the soft goods cape which is an altered piece from a store bought VOTC Darth Vader.

Lightsaber is hand sculpted, casted in plastic. Saber does not light up. Bean is removable from hilt.

Sculpted using Aves FIXIT sculpt and hand painted using Testors Polly Scale and Floquil acrylics.

My 1:18 scale, 4.5" tall Furlag sculpt is complete. The head is a completly original sculpt. The figures body is also original and is sculpted over a custom created, articluated frame. I used Aves FIXIT for the sculpt and casted the head in plastic. Furlag has 14 points of articulation. Hand painted using Testors Polyscale (Floquil) acrylic paints. A very unique species in the Star Wars universe...

From Wookipedia - "Furlag was a small-time bounty hunter with large, batlike ears. Operating during the height of the Galactic Empire, he was not well-known, but often worked with other prominent bounty hunters, such as Zuckuss and 4-LOM. He, Zuckuss, and 4-LOM were subcontracted by fellow hunter Skorr on Ord Mantell during the early Galactic Civil War in the hunt for a group of prospective Rebels, then again later with 4-LOM and Zuckuss as well as several other bounty hunters including the Trandoshan Bossk to attempt to pry Han Solo's carbonite-encased body from Boba Fett."

Unfortunately Furlag underestimated Boba Fett and met his end being sucked through and open airlock shaft into deep space.

Sculpt progress on the Space Jockey - ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. Using Aves FIXIT sculpt. Feeling very encouraged after my first sculpting session last night. I feel that if I can produce a successful head sculpt, the rest of the figure will fall into place. I hope this remains true with the Space Jockey. I feel I am "headed" in the right direction! LOL! Bad joke....Anyway, the plan is to complete the head sculpt early this week and then begin sculpting the rib cage and lower section of the creature. I plan to sculpt the entire piece using Aves FIXIT, using sheet styrene and monster clay as framework. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎spacejockey‬ ‪#‎hrgiger‬ ‪#‎sculpture‬ ‪#‎diorama‬ ‪#‎prometheus‬
