The proverbial canary...

The moon this evening in a cloudless sky...

At the end of the fifth instar larval stage, this caterpillar wraps a thread of silk around itself, like a utility pole climbing belt, and pupates. Far more attractive than its previous instars, which earned it the descriptive name “bird poop caterpillar”, it will harden into a pupa molt or chrysalis that resembles a sci-fi alien being or invading body snatcher. After a metamorphosis of about two weeks, a strikingly beautiful citrus swallowtail butterfly emerges.

On the orders of the Emperor, Darth Sidious, the Fifth Brother was dispatched by the Sith Lord Darth Vader to hunt the growing rebellion against the Empire.

These are not clouds, they are icy mountains! Megan claimed to have spotted Antarctica, and we doubted her, fools! The next day she studied our trajectory and calculated the right timing to look out the window, and guess what, we could all see it with our own eyes (and a camera). I had never seen Antarctica from space (neither from Earth, mind you) and I was convinced it’s too far south for us to catch a glimpse from the Space Station. Guess what, I should have checked my facts (please always do that, people). Well done Megan.

Fifth Element is one of the movies I’ll watch over and over again.

I’ve been working on this taxi from the movie for quite a long time and finished it today. Difficulty in getting the right parts (and learning a few things about some popular Bricklink sellers), a mishap that caused me to order a new set of stickers, plus this is a fragile model and has come apart more than once. But it’s done and as soon as I find the minifigs I bought to go with it…

Now that "May the Fourth" is over, we have "Revenge of the Fifth" and my Emperor minfig is enjoying this day :-)

Hello there!

Let's go! I really enjoyed the fifth episode of Mando. I think it's because of my pure love for Tatooine diorama. This MOC was special to me because last year I spent a lot of time creating a large project in this location. You can check it on my flickr and Instagram account :) I wanted to create a scene where Mando and Calican trade with Tuskens, but I decided to modify it a bit and add something special - Bantha! I hope you will like it! Thanks!

In spite of our advances, medicine has not become simpler, but far more complicated.

"Here, let me poke you with my Sonic Screwdriver."

"WAAAAHHH!!"

"I just want an injectable solution that has frickin micro sharks with frickin micro laser beams on their frickin micro heads! Is that so much to ask??"

"HAAAALLLP!"

"I will perfect my lobotomezmero operation on him."

"It's just a raaaassshh!!!"

"He's soon to be dead, Jim!"

"Get me outta heerre!!"

Are we better off with being the test subjects for thousands of new procedures, techniques, drugs, medications, and therapies?

Or, should we find the old country doctor? Hm. I wonder how Dr. Welby's doing these days

And when your children come to you,

confused and afraid,

tell them of this sacred place,

on top of this mountain and of the little candle

waiting, yearning, burning for them.

I like how the two tips at the bottom look like out stretched ballet arms in fifth position.

The fifth SS Rotterdam, also known as "The Grande Dame", is a former ocean liner and cruise ship, and has been a hotel ship in Rotterdam, Netherlands, since 2010. She was launched by Queen Juliana of the Netherlands in a gala ceremony on 13 September 1958, and was completed the following summer.

The Rotterdam was the last great Dutch "ship of state", employing the finest artisans from the Netherlands in her construction and fitting out process. Her career spanned forty-one years. She sailed from 1959 until her final retirement in September 2000.

Friday morning, August 1

Its Good Friday here, and its tradition to stop all work. The workaholic in me says do something... so I updated my Venitu Caleb's face up, did some wig work and and instant photoshoot. Productive day.
