ā€œFamilies don’t have to match. You don’t have to look like someone else to love them.ā€

Quote — Leigh Anne Tuohy

Well, here they are, all three of them! I think they are talking about the weather and what they will eat tonight ;-))

The song 'We Are Family' by Sister Sledge, just popped up in my head. Enjoy!

Protea is both the botanical name and the English common name of a genus of South African flowering plants, sometimes also called sugarbushes or fynbos. The family is Proteaceae. In local tradition, the protea flower represents change and hope. The extraordinary richness and diversity of species characteristic of the Cape flora are thought to be caused in part by the diverse landscape, where populations can become isolated from each other and in time develop into separate species. The main vectors responsible for the transfer of pollen in protea cultivation are birds, insects, and wind. Some Protea species exhibit both self-pollination and cross-pollination as a method of reproduction. Cross-pollination is preferred, though, as a method of reproduction because it provides genetic diversity in the population. When cultivating proteas, breeders use hand pollination as a controlled method to transfer pollen from one flower to another. Proteas usually flower during spring. The general structure of their flower heads consists of a mass of flowers on a woody receptacle. The ovary is protected by the receptacle, thus is not seen when looking at the flower, but the anthers are present at the top of the flower, which can then easily transfer the pollen to the vectors. 11113

My friend, Mario Scattoloni, asked me to upload 10 works of mine with the goal of promoting positivity, passion, and attention to our love of art on Facebook for 10 days and this is my second creation. It is based upon my painting called "Save the Family" which is about my own family.

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

A white stork nest in the wildlife park Eekholt. These storks are no more able to fly away because of injuries in the past. They found their home in the wildlife park after being rescued and are visited every summer by their old partners who never forgot them and return every spring. They build their nests on the ground now and raise their chicks. It is always again so touching to watch them.

This collage of memories is based on the life and beauty of another one of my great aunts, Mattie Malvina Hamilton. She was the sixth of seven daughters, born in Kentucky in 1880. Although I don’t remember her, I do know that she was a favorite sister of my grandmother. I wish I had listened more carefully to her stories of ā€œAunt Mattā€.....

CHEF clabudak wants us to experiment with vintage-tinged collage techniques, a genre that some of us may find difficult at first. She says, "I wanted to give others a chance to branch out a bit if they haven't tried it before" (or even if they have!!).

āž¤ Create an image in the style of collage art (a.k.a., cut-out art). See below for some inspiration links.**

āž¤ The main subject must be a vintage portrait of one man or one woman. See note below.***

āž¤ The image must include at least one animal (from spider to elephant and all in between).

āž¤ It must also include text.

āž¤ NO SUPER BRIGHT, SATURATED COLORS.

Shot 4800mm without cropping;

I shot about 6000 jpg and put it together in PS. 600mm f4.0ii + 2X + 2X + CIZ(1.4x to 2x) + ASPC(1.5x) = 7200mm. I have to stand about 500ft away to get green creamy background.

Don't miss the L Y - The last couple of years have been very challenging for all of us indeed. Pandemic, Politics, and Polarizing social media. The wolf in sheeps clothing knows that he must divide in order to conquer. Strong family ties and long friendship binds will be tested..Humanity, humility, hold on to Family, hold on to friends. Love, compassion, understanding, and acceptance is not always easy, but hatred is.

This grouping of "Hare's Foot Inkcap Mushrooms" reminds me of a family.

The Hare's Foot Inkcap ( Coprinopsis lagopus) can be seen in small groups on soil or leaf litter in woodlands and in rarer occasions out in field scenarios as early as May and right through to the late autumn months. They are common in most parts of Britain and Ireland and throughout mainland Europe. It is also found in many other parts of the world including much of Asia and North America.

It got it's common english name from the way the young furry-like fruiting body is reminiscent of a hare's foot-abiet poking up from the ground.

Hare's Foot Incaps grow up to 12-13 cm.
