A C&TS ballast extra has just navigated the curves at Tanglefoot, and now heads east towards its next spot to dump. The train spent the day working near Los Pinos and reloading at Cumbres, all the while dodging the two regularly scheduled passenger trains.
Stagecoach is expecting higher demand than ever this year from Christmas shoppers looking to travel between the retail hubs in Liverpool and Cheshire. In order to accommodate this, the company has swapped out some of its Alexander Dennis Enviro300 single deck buses on its 1 service for ADL Enviro400 double deck buses.
Trouble with one of the '38s led to the GP18 on the point heading up the branch on this day. Seen coming off the mainline at CPF-241 in Rollinsford.

My coffee got cold on me, so I topped it off with some hot coffee from the carafe.

It wasn't the most spectacular of sunrises, but I have seen far worse. And the longer I look at this shot the more I like it. ;-)
When we came home Saturday afternoon and I opened my shots on the computer I didn't like a single one. Now three days later I at least like one.
Street shooting in Liverpool, NSW a few weeks ago. This "extra chatty" old man was obviously making this woman uncomfortable so I thought I'd see his reaction if I took a photo. Needless to say he was not impressed when he noticed me about to click the shutter. I told him I was taking a photo of that cool looking trolley of capsicum.
Shot with the old Rebel EOS with 40mm panake lens and Fujifilm Xtra 400 for the extra chatty old man!

Can you see a submarine on the lake? The answer is: Silly but true! It has dived to the bottom....he he!

another shot of the portland head lighthouse. I was right down on the beach this time, near the waterline, and watching my camera and tripod closely during this 25 second exposure, ready to snatch them away if they should be threatened by an incoming wave. I wouldn't be the first or last photographer to lose gear this way.
these long exposures will quickly tell you if your sensor needs cleaning. mine did. =) some extra cleanup time was required in post processing.
thank you for visiting!

This is how I keep and sort all of the extra LEGO heads I have not currently being used for another purpose. I put all similar heads together and have a stick in the middle of the wheel so I can spin it around and look at all of the heads on the other side. It's a pretty nice thing for quickly locating a head I want.

Howdy folks!!!
How about a unrealistic HDR of the Albany Oregon Amtrak station, everybody say YEAH!!! :-)

The FRA geometry car test extra is southbound on MassDOT's ex New Haven Cape Main heading toward Hyannis. They are passing the osprey nest in the marsh as they roll over Bridge Creek near MP 70. The 5 car train bracketed between rebuilt F40PH-3C 1028 and unrebuilt -2C 1036 was operated by a Keolis crew from Boston with a Mass Coastal pilot between Middleboro and Hyannis.

...are needed during a heat wave! Plus, extra cooling measures are needed. I tried to keep The Girls cool by misting them, and applying a cold damp cloth to the inside of their ears. Trying to keep Anise in the shade at 3 in the afternoon was difficult because she wanted to go out for her 'walk' at walk time. When it's 40 degrees outside I put my foot down and cancel the 'walk'. However, without a 'walk' she'll squawk ~ ha ~ unless her mouth is full! Thankfully, today it's only going up to 27 C. Yesterday in our province of British Columbia a town called Lytton broke a record for Canada and reached 49.5 C ~ OUCH ~ that's HOT for our parts!!!
Certainly not the best photo, but there's a bit of a story behind this one.
In summer 2012 we attended the air show at Avord, but this event was below par, partly because that year, the higher powers decided that only French aircraft would be present.
I don't think we bothered with a flying programme but had to leave just before 5pm in order to get back to Paris at a reasonable hour. But we had only been back on the open road for a few minutes when this formation came into view - two Mirage 2000s in formation with a KC-135 tanker.
The KC-135 is one of three additional aircraft acquired from the US in 1994, these receiving extensive updates before arriving in France. The one in my photo is 525, derived from its US serial of 62-3525.
