Not particularly common for CP to run to Falconbridge in the morning, so shots like this with the yard 6 axles is relatively uncommon.

A CP Rail westbound extra rolls into great late afternoon lighting as SD40 5512 still in candy stripes is looking great here west of London, Ontario back on April 15, 1978.
Why is this fancy mountain bike parked out in the snow on a Saturday at the local high school? Maybe the owner is working on an extra credit project. You can suggest other possibilities in the comments.

Three former DT&I GP40-2's have found new duties now under the GTW family label here complete with extra flags roll an extra section of the eastbound Canadian National - Chicago to Toronto "Laser" piggyback and container train, at Hyde Park, Ontario just west of London - February 8, 1986.

An unusual morning I&O extra with traffic for Delta, OH and points north thunders through the CPLs at NE Cairo behind a clean trio of orange SD40-2s. Despite the increasing commonality of the G&W scheme, scenes like this still make it look good, though it's not quite the same orange that used to ply these rails on DT&I trackage-rights trains.

Holidays are happy and magical but they can also be challenging for people going through some tough times, the struggles of loss, emotional and physical pain, or other hard-to-deal with issues....
Let's not forget those who struggle and send them some extra love.

CSX X648-24 rolls north through Trenton, KY, 225 miles from Louisville, KY via Nashville, TN. The flared radiator SD70MAC (4758) leading was a nice touch, especially in this lighting.

This was supposed to be the last, but I spoke too soon. I am having separation anxiety a little bit. I was going through and cleaning out files and came across this one and would like to post it. The end is coming soon though, for real.
Happy Thursday and happy shooting to you.
Apparently, this little guy is living in my neighborhood.
He is so sweet and friendly.

SOO plow extras weren't all that common up here in the Eastern Upper Peninsula and some years only a couple would operate depending on the snow pack and how effective the plow equipped units managed to keep the track clean. Usually when they did operate I couldn't do much with an eastbound plow as they tended to originate out of Gladstone/Marquette in the morning and by the time they made there way down to my area after all the work clearing sidings it would be dark or nearly dark. That only left me with westbounds to generally have a shot at. Normally geeps were the usual power as they were highly effective in snow conditions but I did catch a couple of plows over the years with GP35's of all things powering them. February 13, 1981 was one of the rare GP35 powered plow appearances as 726 shoved the Gladstone based Russell and Flanger set westbound out of Trout Lake.
