BNSF #8262 leads a westbound rack train through Flagg Center on the C&I. #8262 was one of 25 SD75Ms delivered to BNSF immediately after the 1996 BN-ATSF merger. Rated at 4,300 horsepower, the SD75Ms were a more powerful version of the SD70M; only 76 models were produced.
With new ES44C4s arriving in 2014, the unit was renumbered to #262 and was ultimately rebuilt at Mid-America.
The 'Murican asked for a shot showing the Desert Marpat, so I did one. Took the advantage to also show off the back of the Recon fig, plus their stands (Ok those are a lot of fun to do, expect more.)
Yup. Just a coupla details that you couldn't see in the other pics.

Prompt: a forlorn extraterrestrial being with an oversized head, large black oval eyes, and thin limbs sitting on a flat bottom single engine boat in a swampy landscape at dawn. The creature has a smooth, grey skin and is depicted in a pensive pose hands on its knees. It's wearing overalls, a dirty torn white tee-shirt, and oversized brown boots and on the seat next to the extraterrestrial is a vintage fishing rod and a bulky and slightly weathered green fishing tackle box . To the left of the being on the dirt embankment is a small, makeshift sign with the words "NO FISHING" scribbled on it, planted firmly in the dusty foreground. In the background, the terrain is punctuated with trees and the sky boasts a large celestial spiral galaxy with milky way, cast in a hue of deep blues, green.
Thank you all for the visit, kind remarks and invites, they are very much appreciated! 💝 I may reply to only a few comments due to my restricted time spent at the computer.

Last night I visited my local reserviour and it took until 8.45 before the swans finally made an appearance. I knew they were on their nest but it is so overgrown around it you cannot really see anything properly. I was withing 5 minutes of packing my stuff away and leaving for the night when they popped out to enjoy the sunset together and they did visit me on the bankside for good measure, so I left feeling very happy :0). Sometimes good things do come to those who wait. It was just magic.
Conrail SDP45 6670 is sitting at the helper terminal in Cresson Pa. on 07-21-1977. In back of her is 6011 ex PRR SD35,6296 ex PRR SD40, and 6228 ex PRR SD45. The Youngstown Steel Heritage Foundation reached an agreement with the Virginia Museum of Transport to purchase and move her to the Marter Yard Railroad Museum in Youngstown Ohio. The "Extra 3639 North" project is raising donations for all aspects of her restoration. She is originally EL 3639 built for the EL in 1969. If anyone can add how and when it got to Roanoke from Conrail it would be appreciated. Howard Kent Jr.
As I am still up doing last minute xmas prep, I thought I'd put this in tonight as I may not get the chance tomorrow. This is a wee reindeer ornament with the fairy lights in the background and as its Christamas I gave it a little extra sparkle in Fotor. HMM : ) Night Night x
I finally gave in and read this book. I read the main three books in the "trilogy" some time ago, but never read this one because I thought it wouldn't have Tally/any importance. I found it on a discount for only five bucks so I got it. It was great! It took some getting used to, not being from Tally's p.o.v. that is, and the new characters are very annoying to me (Aya is whiney and fame-obsessed, Frizz is too truthful, Hiro is too arrogant, Ren is the only one I actually liked). It got TONS better once Tally and the Cutters came along!

This wide-view of the Milky Way was taken in front of the ExtrA telescopes installed at La Silla Observatory, in Chile. This network of three 60-centimetre telescopes (whose only 2 of them are visible here) is owned by the Institute of Planetary Science and Astrophysics of Grenoble (IPAG) and aims to discover transiting exoplanets around M-dwarf stars in our galaxy. ExtrA means "Exoplanets in Transits and their Atmospheres" and studies planetary transits combining a joint photometric and spectroscopic novel technique...
I took this picture in July 2019, during the #MeetESO event. The night sky there was absolutely stunning and the brightest part of the Milky Way was just right above our head! This unforgettable astrophotography shooting was supervised by two professional international astrophotographers: Petr Horàlek and Mahdi Zamani! What a treat!
