These are a 'specialty' Tulip, with pointed petals, when they open completely, they look like stars... superstars, with the odd green bit grown in.

To me: quirky=interesting=special.

We are back to Winter conditions with big seas but coupled with Summer offshore winds. I usually shoot these at high speed but decided to try slow panning.

Some days the beach is so littered with washed up kelp that It is not worth making a slow pan. In this image the high spring tide had flattened the beach resulting in beautiful contours while also clearing the kelp debris. One never knows what is going to be there until you get there!!
