The aim with this painting was to experiment with different mark making and different ways to apply paint. I held back to begin with, I was being precise as I blended together oil paint with my finger, until I realised what the time was! I didn’t have long left to finish this painting, to which I attacked it with emulsion; scraping and rubbing the paint onto the surface. I really like the effect I’ve created within this piece, I’ve learnt by having a time limit and working quickly can create more exciting marks than if I was to spend as much time as I wanted on a piece.

Size: 1 x 1 meter.

Media: Oil paint, Emulsion on canvas.
