This scruffy corner of Church Road, Southend-on-Sea was the terminus of Thames Weald of West Kingsdown's long route from Sevenoaks that went via Romford and the Dartford Tunnel. PKR 399W was a former Dodge 50 demonstrator that later saw service with Bu-Val in Manchester. This picture was taken on 29 April 1989, but I cannot imagine that this unusual service still runs.

Looking east into Utah along UT-21. This is an 83-mile stretch of no services between Milford, Utah, and Baker, Nevada, along the ACA Western Express. It's not apparent in the pic, but we battled 20-25 mph flanking winds and headwinds. There isn't much vegetation to move with the gusts, so you can't tell how strong the wind really is until you start moving.
These types of roads are mentally taxing, when you can see it go on for 30 or more miles. Basin, range, repeat.

This location was built and opened in 2001 and it closed in March 2017.
Passing the abandoned Bareilly Central signal box, WDM-3A 18850 approaches Bareilly Junction station with Train 13308, the 18:25 Firozpur Cantt Junction [FZR] to Dhanbad Junction [DHN], Ganga Satluj Express. This daily service was 621 kms into the 1601 kms total journey. Bareilly Junction was the 28th intermediate stop and the Express would travel via Lucknow and Varanasi making a further 40 stops prior arriving at DHN at 04:55 the following morning. The locomotive carries the Ludhiana Depot (LDH) livery of grey/red/grey with white lining.
