A Sci-fi and fantasy concert held under the wings of Concorde. I never went with the expectation of great photography, but nevertheless took my camera to see what I could capture. General shots were out of the question with so many people at the event, but a few detail images caught my eye.

The anorak bit…

Concorde is a tailless aircraft design with a narrow fuselage permitting a 4-abreast seating for 92 to 128 passengers, an ogival delta wing and a droop nose for landing visibility. It is powered by four Rolls-Royce/Snecma Olympus 593 turbojets with variable engine intake ramps, and reheat for take-off and acceleration to supersonic speed. Constructed out of aluminium, it was the first airliner to have analogue fly-by-wire flight controls. The airliner could maintain a super-cruise speed up to Mach 2.04 (2,167 km/h; 1,170 kn; 1,347 mph) at an altitude of 60,000 ft (18.3 km).

Delays and cost overruns increased the programme cost to £1.5–2.1 billion in 1976, (£9–13.2 billion in 2021). Concorde entered service on 21 January of that year with Air France from Paris-Roissy and British Airways from London Heathrow. Transatlantic flights were the main market, to Washington Dulles from 24 May, and to New York JFK from 17 October 1977. Air France and British Airways remained the sole customers with seven airframes each, for a total production of twenty. Supersonic flight more than halved travel times, but sonic booms over the ground limited it to transoceanic flights only.

Its only competitor was the Tupolev Tu-144, carrying passengers from November 1977 until a May 1978 crash, while the larger and faster Boeing 2707 was cancelled in 1971. On 25 July 2000, Air France Flight 4590 crashed shortly after take-off with all 109 occupants and four on ground killed, the only fatal incident involving Concorde. Commercial service was suspended until November 2001, and Concorde aircraft were retired in 2003 after 27 years of commercial operations. Most aircraft are on display in Europe and America.

Everyone expects. Each one for something else

or someone.

And now, the expectation belongs to everyone.

Yet, each one with their own expectations.

Attente

Tout le monde attend. Chacun pour quelque chose d'autre

ou quelqu'un.

Et maintenant, l'attente appartient à tous.

Pourtant, chacun avec ses propres attentes.

The anticipation, a 'Duchess' at Retford after dark; the expectation of an arrival into the well lit Platform 1; the satisfaction, a late start from York resulting in a full bore charge through the station on the Up Fast. The attraction of No. 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' heading The Railway Touring Company's 'The York Yule Tide Express', 1Z43 1633 York - London Kings Cross, brought out the crowds, and they were not disappointed as due to late running and a Retford stopper following, the train was routed through the Up Fast. The reason for the late departure from York was reported as being due to turntable problems at the NRM, resulting in a long turning move via Church Fenton. Modern understanding of progress frequently equates to the expectation of increase. We aim for increasing assets or appreciation to satisfy our fear of loss. Hence, things speed up, which is why there is steadily more to achieve, earn, or optimize. As growth is on everyone’s lips, fast motion seems unquestionable.

When there is no enough, the setting has to adapt to the prevailing dogma. As a result, humans seek to squeeze the world into a suit that is many sizes too small. However, without a doubt, pulling in the belly is insufficient because what is not supposed to fit cannot fit.

But when the idea of exceptional guides us, everything has to become more outstanding. On this fast ride, we don’t stop at ourselves. Accordingly, we are seeking for more, personal growth – the perfect me. As priorities shift, something got to give way. Thus, reality feels heavy when one puts too much strain on it.

And while standing on this bridge, the pace of the daily grid runs underneath my feet. Within all of these actions, the expectation of growth has given way to the indifference. A moment of standstill in the tugging speed of the time in which we live.

With the expectation of a GBRf Class 66/7 heading 6L48 15.48 Garston - Dagenham empty car carriers, the sight of Dellner-coupling fitted Caledonian Sleeper Class 92 No. 92014 at the helm was a definite bonus. “The joy that comes past hope and beyond expectation is like no other pleasure in extent.” Sophocles.

Having to suspend a two-week photo trip is not very pleasant. But I like to believe that things happen for something, and if I can not be where I had planned, there are always alternatives. In my case I have the immense fortune of being from a province that hides wonderful corners. So yesterday, although the sky did not promise much, I took my gear and I went with some friends to the always charming coves of the Cape of Roche.

I have seen some of the most incredible sunsets of my life on these small beaches surrounded by cliffs. This time I was not disappointed again, and although it was quite difficult to find a good composition, in the end everything was aligned. The result is this photograph full of that special light that seems to exist only in Cadiz.

These passengers are anticipating the arrival of the 15:10 Bristol Parkway to Weston-super-Mare service here at Bristol Temple Meads station on Saturday 18th January 2020.

This island platform (numbers 10 & 12 here at the west end) and its canopy date from the station's expansion in the 1930s. The vacant space on the left was once occupied by Bath Road diesel depot, a facility that was demolished after its closure in 1995. The site was later earmarked for the proposed 12,000 seater Bristol Arena, a covered entertainment venue of a size and versatility that the city currently lacks. However, that project was finally (?) scrapped in 2018 following repeated delays and lack of progress.

My initial views(April 20th) of this particular bird caused me to start, and quickly inhale with expectation.I wasn't able to manage very decent photos that day but a subsequent visit(May 13th) allowed for some better views and photo doc.

For those that haven't seen or heard about this bird i have posted a few shots ..

Disappointment is a sort of bankruptcy - the bankruptcy of a soul that expends too much in hope and expectation.
