Morning exercises on the Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi, Vietnam.
From my street photography workshop in April 2017.
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is the coastal defense and maritime law enforcement branch of the United States Armed Forces and one of the country's seven uniformed services. The Coast Guard is a maritime, military, multi-mission service unique among the U.S. military branches for having a maritime law enforcement mission (with jurisdiction in both domestic and international waters) and a federal regulatory agency mission as part of its mission set. It operates under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security during peacetime, and can be transferred to the U.S. Department of the Navy by the U.S. President at any time, or by the U.S. Congress during times of war. This has happened twice: in 1917, during World War I, and in 1941, during World War II. Created by Congress on 4 August 1790 at the request of Alexander Hamilton as the Revenue-Marine, it is the oldest continuous seagoing service of the United States.
I've shot the HH11 local dozens of times. It's an easy target and it's always a single GP38-2.
I've also shot from this location at CP Harrisburg from atop the State Street Bridge dozens of times. It's a spot I like and it's also easy access from my office in Harrisburg.
I heard the HH11 wanting to come out of the yard with GP38-2 #5179 and knowing 5178 was a high hood I had hoped the same for the #5179.
Well no such luck as I could spot that admiral cab from a mile away.
As he fired up the bright lights I ratcheted the shutter down to 1/6 and decided to grab the big and wide pan.
Why? Well if I don't make it, nothing lost. But if I do...well I've just won gold in the foamer olympics. LOL.
After completing some routine training exercises, Nova Team is back aboard Deep Space Outpost Arcturus enjoying some R&R in the mess hall. Here we have Captain Knight and Lieutenant Stargazer enjoying some Space Coffee with Nova Team's newest crew member, navigator Lieutenant Reese Ramirez. Suddenly the station's comm system beeps and a voice over the intercom requests Nova Team to report to the main conference room in 15 minutes. Captain Knight wonders what that could be all about…?

For those who are interested, unfortunately I am unable to sell the Nova Team minifigures or designs due to the use of the "Classic Space" logo which is owned and trademarked by The LEGO Group. My custom designed figures and use of the official "Classic Space" logo is for personal use only in my MOCs and photography. By the same token, I will not give away the design files and source material either. Thank you for understanding! Trust me, if I could legally sell these, I would.
So much fun to observe this owlet’s early attempts at flight! Lots of flapping going on but results are short and awkward!
Have you been to Beijing? I have been there a couple of times, what a great city.
Surprisingly, there is one last spot available for my #streetphotography workshop there in September. No visa needed for China this year for visitors from many countries, so it is a great opportunity to visit this fascinating metropolis. I haven't been to China since my last workshop there in 2017 and I am really loooking forward to being back there. It is a great country for street photography.
