Some turtles live more than 100 years. I have discovered the reason behind this. Turtles tend to do daily exercises. The proof is in the photo above.
Why Do Turtles Live So Long?
www.petmd.com/reptile/care/how-long-do-turtles-live
"Why turtles live so long also tends to be somewhat of a mystery. One element that seems to play a large role, however, is turtles’ relatively slow metabolism, which helps them process things like diseases and aging at a different rate from birds or other domestic pets. It also helps them live for extended periods without food or water.
In turn, turtles are able to enter states of brumation and aestivation, hibernation-like states during hot and cold temperature extremes. During those times, water turtles can live underwater for months without access to oxygen, which some researchers believe plays a key role in how turtles’ bodies are able to process the stress of a decades-long lifespan.
“Everything’s a bit slower for them,” Mitchell says. “They can undergo anaerobic metabolism, which allows them to process things at a different rate.”
One 2013 study published in the scientific journal Genome Biology, decoded the genome of a western painted turtle, finding some 19 genes in the brain and 23 in the heart that are activated in low-oxygen conditions. Together, those genes work to protect turtles’ organs from oxygen deprivation, and could, as the study posits, potentially provide an increase in how long turtles live."

Funny Turtles
We went to the park early in the morning, and there were people that were exercising. I wanted to just take a picture of them, but my dad told me to go join them... I jumped in long enough for him to snap the shot.
Similar to this, but more lighting was used for a different effect.
Also similar to this, but on a different bridge and different time of day.
I needed an excuse to play with my strobes at night.
I guess I'm easily amused.

We introduced the dumbbell to our hold/retrieve exercises a few weeks ago. I've been very careful in trying not to 'poison' the dumbbell and make it a negative association, and so far I think we're doing ok. Part of the training I'd like to pursue with him requires a dumbbell retrieve so we keep on practising.
Exercises wings.
The story of this bird is below the second photo on the right.

Happy Macro Monday my Flickr Friends
Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Nothing like a few pull-ups to get you going in the morning - as long as you eat as you exercise !!
Bit of a failed shot as it was a grab the camera only to loose the first shot as it was still on the 2 second timer from some previous tripod work . Sorted that only to carry on shooting ( from indoors ) and the iso was left on 200 and on a dark and grimzle day this shot was near black on the screen . Managed to raise it to this as I thought the pose was worth keeping if I could ,
