I sometimes like to practice the photographic eye with minimalistic street photography, trying to capture aspects of spring (or any other season), when looking down at the city's pavement. © Tom Kisjes
A Rigid Inflatable Boat (top) from HMS Illustrious exercises with an Albanian Naval Forces 44' Archangel Patrol Boat in the Adriatic Sea.
HMS Illustrious was operating off the coast of Albania conducting board exercises with fellow NATO member Albania. Members of the ships boarding party boarded the patrol boat from the Albanian Navy which was playing the part of a suspect vessel.
Supporting the exercise was a Merlin helicopter from 814 Naval Air Squadron which hovered overhead providing top cover to the boarding teams. Boarding operations are regularly practised by Royal Navy ships as they can be called upon to do this at any time, anywhere in the world.
HMS Illustrious is taking part in Cougar, a three month deployment to the Mediterranean as part of the United Kingdom’s Response Force Task Group, exercising with key allies. Exercises will include Corsican Lion, which will test the maritime element of the UK-French Joined Expeditionary Force, and Exercise Albanian Lion which will provide superb faculties for the Lead commando group to train with Albanian forces, consolidating our relationship.

Another shot courtesy of Flickr user m20wc51, again from US Army SP4 Mueller, this time showing an M110 self-propelled howitzer crossing a river, presumably during the annual exercises between the South Korean armed forces and the US forces stationed on the peninsula. The exercises are, if memory serves, usually held in the spring, so this is either spring 1968 or spring 1969. Possibly confirming this, the fields in the background don't have anything poking up through the soil yet, even though they appear to have been ploughed. The MII0 was gradually replaced by the M109, and you can see a Korean version of that here.
The original shot can be found here, for purposes of comparison, and as you can see, the shot had, like others of Mueller's, faded and gone to purple a bit. I've tried to bring back the colour and contrast without having it go too far the other way, that is, to green.
Kegel exercises (Kegels) are exercises designed to strengthen the muscles of the lower pelvic girdle, or pelvic floor—the pubococcygeal (PC) muscles. The PC muscles support the bladder, urethra, and urethral sphincter—the muscle group at the neck of the bladder that acts as a spigot for controlling urine flow into the urethra—and the vagina, uterus, and rectum.

'Nice' is a brand on the packet of nuts visible in the shot. 'Mother-and-child' hand-held self by George. From this position he can't get a level horizon, and he never does any editing - so I used the excuse to do a bit more than rotation: some exposure correction and some colour. Their skin was blue from the overcast sky and neither the hat, nor the snack packet were good for white-balance reference, so I did 'my' warming of colours for a more sunny feel. It's Miami, after all :)
