I read about paying attention to the negative shapes and joining shapes together plenty of times. Yet, doing this simple exercises of sketching the shapes made by the shadows and then painting in two layers (shadow shapes over the colour) was much more beneficial in making me understand how I can use this concept in the future. I better do more practice exercises.
Day 25
Pastel over Sharpie...
Up early this morning - and it's still raining and grey, but the sparrows and starlings are busy.
Coming to the end of these books.... wondering where to continue the morning exercises and whether to keep them in a sketchbook or on ready cut paper....
Tutto va bene per giocare, anche una semplice ringhiera...

HMS Triumph is the latest and most capable Trafalgar-Class submarine. She is the tenth RN warship (and the second submarine) to bear that name, the first being a 58-gun galleon launched in 1562.
She was launched by VSEL in Barrow in 1991 and is based in Devonport. The Fleet Submarine can stay at sea unsupported for up to three months, and is very versatile, able to fill a variety of roles from tactical strike to fleet protection to intelligence gathering.

Alaska Army National Guard Soldiers with Avalanche Company, 1-297th Infantry Battalion, practice squad and platoon situational training exercises (STX) at Alcantra armory in Wasilla, Alaska, March 11, 2022. An STX is a short, scenario-driven, mission-oriented exercise designed to train one collective task or a group of related tasks or battle drills. For the A-Co. Soldiers, the STX allows for evaluation of basic Soldier skills and leadership competencies to determine proficiency and certify the platoon to conduct live-fire exercises. It also reinforces previous training that the Soldiers have completed by bringing the entire platoon together to further prepare the unit for live-fire training. The infantrymen are preparing to participate in the Army National Guard’s eXportable Combat Training Capability (XCTC) program, which is a brigade field training exercise similar to a Combat Training Center. They will participate in an XCTC rotation at Camp Roberts, California, July 2022. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Spc. Grace Nechanicky)

Local residents of Yanaka gather for morning exercises. Someone played the NHK radio exercise program on a loudspeaker and lead the group in various stretching exercises under a canopy of cherry trees. Morning exercises are something you don't see too often anymore. First, they usually happen around 6:30 in the morning while most of us are asleep or getting ready for work. And second it's more of an old tradition that most young people wouldn't even think of taking part in anymore.
I got that old leotard and it was my intention to put him on for some sporty exercises.
It is like the leotards I once used to wear in my chhildhood.
A funny flashback of good old times...
