Steichen took over 1,000 exposures of a single white teacup and saucer against a graduated scale of tones from pure white to black velvet. While this redundancy may seem obscure, in A life in Photography, Steichen stated that "the experiment was to a photographer what finger exercises were to a pianist."

After a full week of family and eating delicious food, it is time to get back to my exercise routine haha. This snowy owl has the right idea doing owl stretches.
never far away from its mother this baby elephant couldn't have been more than a few weeks old, it was "trying out" its trunk, waving it in the air, changing it into shapes and generally getting used to what its general purpose was, much to our enjoyment of this scene in Kruger national park

This Pied Stilt had been 'lying down' on the bank of Skeleton Creek when it stood up and did its morning stretches.
This is the largest of the four species of squirrel in Sri Lanka. It becomes habituated to people and will readily approach them at picnic spots and hotels to take fruits.

Camber Sands è una spiaggia dell'East Sussex, in Inghilterra, nel villaggio di Camber, vicino a Rye. È l'unico sistema di dune di sabbia nell'East Sussex. Le dune furono fortificate e utilizzate per gli esercizi durante la seconda guerra mondiale. Le dune assomigliano infatti topograficamente a quelle viste in parti della Normandia e in impegnativi terreni desertici.
Camber Sands is a beach in East Sussex, England, in the village of Camber, near Rye. It is the only sand dune system in East Sussex. The dunes were fortified and used for exercises in the Second World War. The dunes resemble topographically those seen in parts of Normandy and challenging desert terrain.
This is the Lesser Yellowlegs - Tringa flavipes - which is a medium sized shorebird more closely related to the Willet than the very similar Greater Yellowlegs. Breeding in northern Canada it migrates to the USA and winters in the West Indies and South America. It lives anywhere there are marshes, muddy pools, ponds, lakes etc. feeding mainly on insects, small fish and crustaceans. This one was seen in Guardalavaca, Cuba.
