Cpl Roy Caroline from Riviere-du-Loup, a reservist with the Fusiliers du St-Laurent and criminology student at Laval University, oversees the eastern tip of Ile-aux-Coudres while Cpl Rene Gagnon-Desjardins Rimouski, a reservist in the same unit and roofer, takes a different position during the Exercise BOLD CROSSING held on Saturday, October 1 2011 in Charlevoix, Quebec.

Nine hundred reservists from the 35th Canadian Brigade Group (35 CBG) took part in Exercise Franchissement Audacieux on October 1 2011 in Les Eboulements and Ile-aux-Courdes municipalities, in the region of Charlevoix, Quebec.

The purpose of this exercise was to cross the St. Lawrence River aboard thirty assault inflatable boats to attack a fictional enemy located at the eastern tip of Ile-aux-Courdes. The simulation of fighting resulted in different scenarios ranging from ambushes to confrontation, punctuated by explosions.

The exercise followed a fictitious storyline, but called for the employment of real-world assets. While French and U.S. forces conduct frequent combined training events, this was the first exercise of this type between the two nations in Djibouti. The U.S. forces involved are assigned to Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, or CJTF-HOA. CJTF-HOA works with coalition partners, such as the French, and with countries in East Africa to promote regional security and stability. I lately started exercising with the goal of enhancing muscle mass dimension as well as shedding some fat. It seems that obtaining and cutting cycles could be the most effective means to go rather of aiming to do both at the same time. I have actually been consuming a bunch of healthy protein...

This is my chosen shot for the strobist indoor light balancing exercise.

Sunpak 383 to right of camera at 1/16th.

Camera at 1/30 @ f/6.7

The reason for choosing this shot is that it shows a hint of what is in the background without the background starting to dominate, while still giving a bit of a feeling of a relationship between the candle and the background..
