Outside the restrooms at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is a little collection of coin-operated amusements, some familiar from San Francisco's Musee Mecanique. This one was new to us. The condemned man's head lights up orange when he's electrocuted.

Sheriff Withers who was Lane County Sheriff during the murder at Isham Corral
by Claude Branton, was murdered by a horse thief by the name of Elliott Ellis Lyons, which led to the second and last public hanging in Lane County.
This is an old photograph from the end of 1800's depicting a Chinese Pirate execution on the banks of the Yangtze river.
Prisoners for execution would walk into the first room in the top left and be escorted to the third room to the right. A "doctor" would await the man and ask him to undress and remove any valuables for a physical. The doctor would then escort the man to the middle, rectangular room below the two small rooms above. The prisoner was told to stand against the wall for a height measurement. Behind the wall, another prisoner with a handgun waited for the small hole he was looking at to go from light to darkness. Once it did, he pulled the trigger. Soldiers would take his body to the large, square room to the right and remove any valuables from his body not previously removed (gold teeth, watches). Once complete, the soldiers would take the body to the crematorium in the room below.
