Offereing up the engine to the chassis for the first time. It did not look good. Our initial reaction was that the statter motor, sump and oil filter would all fall foul of the chassis. At the other end, the bell housing seemed too wide, so the engine would have to installed too far forward (107)
I created this picture of Shrek in MS Excel 2007 by changing the background color of each cell. Pretty pleased with the outcome...

At least I know that the Rover V8 engine has been carried out quite a few times already, and so I know that it dose fit.

Using BMW E46 window and mirror switches. A bigger challenge has been finding the other half of the socket
Spray painting the springs (7 Jan 2006) . The springs were heavily corroded, and each one had about 20 minutes in the shot blasting cabinet. (61)
The central slat support and the bottom 2 slats attached. These are made from fiberglass, from which it is possible to produce a nice gentle curve. (232)
Arthur Wolstenholme then came up with the far simpler idea of cutting out some of the sump. Luckily, we had an old Rover V8 to act as a guinea pig. Yes, it would be possible to make the sump smaller. We eneded up taking out about 40mm off its front. (108)
The design was based upon a champagne label, and incorporates the family crest and mentions those that have me with the project
