Offereing up the engine to the chassis for the first time. It did not look good. Our initial reaction was that the statter motor, sump and oil filter would all fall foul of the chassis. Initial idea was to cit out some of the cross member, marked with a blue felt tip line. (105)
The boot lid. Now that the shape follows the correct profile of the car, I wanted to make a recess to put a badge. This idea came about when I won an eBay auction for a team lotus badge. I thought that I liked the idea, so plan to reduce its size by 1/3, and make a recess to locate it at the bottom the boot lid. As is usual with this project, there was more to that initially thought, as we had to increase the lip, so that we had a bigger area in which to put the badge. (241)
I have been lead to believe that Recaro are the best seats, so, I have acquired a pair of barely used Recaro seat from the defunct Ronart Lightning project, which will be perfect for my car (obviously, need to be recovered) This is a project in itself - we managed to lower the seat mountings by a couple of inches, and cut away a bit of the sill of the car, to allow a seat user to gain access to the seat controls at the side of the seat,
