Christmas lights at Oxford Circus, London in 1967.

When one could motor freely down Regent Street and Oxford Street amidst the lines of everpresent Routemasters ....one of which is about to negotiate the famous umbrella in place during the construction of the Victoria Line.

We visited the Jesuit Services in Siem Reap while in Cambodia. Being surrounded by water, lotus flowers were a constant sight during my travels through Cambodia.

Natasha Corrett of honestlyhealthyfood.com gets together with the fine people of Teapigs to run a matcha masterclass in the everpresently hip and ever evolving Boxpark, Shoreditch. Asides from the masterclass itself (which was a one off event), the pop up is full of matcha Kit Kats (Japanese Import), matcha bread (brown bread infused with matcha), gluten free matcha cake, tea (obviously) and other stuff I probably forgot about. If you have a matcha fetish, go take a look.

I’m not sure how long the popup is gonna be there for, but I’m pretty sure it’s a short lived phenomenon. According to the guys at Teapigs, this is an experiment, they’ve never tried running a physical shop before.

Maximus getting ready for his karate class - a rare glimpse of him without his everpresent orange hat! I hadn't noticed at the time, but the light from the setting sun is falling on the wall behind him, contrasting nicely against his white Gi. Although this was a very spontaneous shot, I'm quietly pleased with the image. It's a record of one of those fleeting moments that mostly go unrecorded by their mundanity, that in years to come sometimes become the most cherished.

The real office - the everpresent Powerbook 12", bluetooth Kensington mouse, 21" Philips monitor on a Dell P4 machine, High End Systems mug, books, mobile phones and operational manuals and Cisco VOIP phone system. Not much of a view here :-(

A celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Straits Islanders art, life and culture at the National Gallery Singapore during Ever - Present : First Peoples Art of Australia exhibition.

This is our favorite dish in one of our favorite restaurants in DC. A tiny place in Palisades called Kotobuki where we order this bowl of rice with eel and vegetables. It is delicious. Accompanied by everpresent Beatles soundtrack and Mongolian waitresses who speak Russian this place is where you will find us most Friday nights.

A traditional Sicilian pasta recipe, the Norma, with cacioricotta, aubergines and the everpresent basil.

Note everpresent ball near Ash and Pads' GKTW 'button' - opens a million doors and benefits!

I hired a car with driver for one day, when staying at Saschatamia Lodge. The driver was a find, Gairo, spoke excellent english and was into birds. Quite a charmer, he was, and had got "Birds of Ecuador" from a leaving birder. We had fun, found plenty of birds on a low-scale birding mode and for me it was a perfect outing.

We arrived before dawn, hoping for nightjars on the way (no succes, extremely foggy) and when the fog lifted over the rainforest I just had to take a shot at it with my everpresent 300mm.

Milpe Forest, western slope of northern Ecuador, Aug 23 2005.

Posted big.

There's the everpresent Lucy again. For a while, he took Woody everywhere, too. When we bought that for him, he yelled in the store "Look, I got a WOODY!"

By request, Max with his everpresent tennis ball. He chews them into oblivion fairly rapidly, but we live near the beach, and are able to find an endless supply among the driftwood, ones that get lost off the cruise ships. The whole family saves tennis balls for Max. In his juvenile deliquent stage, he once got into a chicken pen, and ended up leaving with one of the chickens. The woman who owned them was great about it. When she was explaining to my brother what happened, he asked her if she was sure it was Max. She reached into her jacket pocket, said "Well, he left this", and handed Don a tennis ball. Busted.

The everpresent mopeds in Rome need to sleep sometime!!

I really like the sense of looming in this picture. Landmark Tower is the tallest building in the country, and it dwarfs everything around it.

I was long intrigued by the tan & brown structures looking a bit like the towers of Tower Bridge in London; a bit like castle towers or guard towers... turns out they're just parking garages or elevators from the parking garages, something like that, for Queen's Square. But kudos to the architects for doing something interesting with it.

The atmosphere created by the way Minato Mirai is arranged, with so much water everpresent, is really a wonderful thing. Yeah, it's all artificial land, but it's not pushing back the ocean so much as incorporating it, making a truly maritime-oriented character of Yokohama as a city to the forefront.

I love deserts, this is the first "text-book" desert I've visited. The photo is actually taken with my everpresent 300mm-lens, which was a bonus on this special occasion. The reason? This was a very popular off-road place, with motorbikes and such, and it was almost impossible to get an unblemished dune-photo with 27-85 mm.

Eastern Morocco, Nov 22 2006.

Strobist: 1 285HV into silver umbrella choked up and crumpled a little @ 1/4 power camera right, 1 sunpak 411 @ 1/16 power gelled red for the background. I put a piece of plexi over a black table top. Almost a granite thing going on. Also had the everpresent FEDEX box for a reflector camera left.

Please critique if you have time.

The night we saw Kylie Minogue at the Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles, CA.

Wine is an everpresent aspect of life around central Portugal. You can buy 5 liter jugs of it for 5 euros. Everyone that has any piece of land seems to make it.

Full moon seen while walking home, above increasing cloudiness and everpresent utility lines. Nothing unusual or glamorous in this, just ordinary things I often enjoy noticing as I'm walking through town.

JESUS is my bestest friend, an everpresent help in time of trouble. Only to the Cross I cling.

...because that's how big brothers are meant to make you feel. I always think cameras should be in your face, not perched so far on top of a building that no one notices them. When they're hidden, we forget how much of a big brother, police state we live in.

Chili Relleno -- poblano chili stuffed with cheese and meat, dipped in egg batter and fried. Served with white rice, beans, and of course the everpresent corn (maize) tortillas.

Bic was surprisingly everpresent.

Gorse fires are worse than usual this year. Fire services are totally stretched; the strong winds and dry grasses have made the smell of burnt bogland everpresent, plumes of smoke and falshes of orange in the distance no longer novel. When the rain returns we will forget, and retreat back to the old complaints.

On St John's Street - damn those everpresent garbage bins!

My everpresent little pink and white furry evil genius companion, Horatio Fang the mouse-thing. He accompanied me on this holiday in order to get an idea how the Romans, whom he holds in great regard (largely for the whole Gladiator thing), lived.

Don't be fooled by the cuteness. No, really. Don't.

He's decided that Herculaneum is to be his base and Kingdom when he takes over the world. He said he didn't want Pompeii to be his base because it was too big. Herculaneum is far more his sort of size. Because he's tiny.

Graffiti is everpresent in the subway system, but this station had more of it than the others I'd seen. There were times that I looked around me and wondered if the station was managing to stay more than a half-step ahead of the chaos of vandalism. It was difficult to repress the sneaking suspicion that I was actually on a movie set of an Abandoned Subway Station.

Brushing my teeth helps the awful taste that my stomach has decide to give me.

Of course, brushing my teeth irritates the cough I have developed. So Who knows when I'll figure this pattern out.

The last straw.

Are you kidding me? This is why I don't spend time in Times Square. A lot of people come to Kyoto instead of Tokyo or Osaka precisely to escape this.

Does anyone honestly come to Kyoto looking for this? Does anyone actually enjoy or appreciate this? This fake, pandering, touristy mockery of a "traditional" Japanese cultural neighborhood? The native Kyotoites I'm sure must hate it - they'd like nothing better than for all the tourists to go away so they can live their refined, historical Imperial Capital lives in peace.

I especially "like" the geisha silhouette on the far right, and the blatantly fake (metal?) red globe lanterns.

At least they used the local Kyoto-ben phrase "okoshiyasu" (おこしやす) instead of the overly generic, everpresent, and ingenuous "youkoso" (ようこそ).

clickclickclick. this guy (and his twins) were everpresent on the sidewalks of the strip. they would snap their little "escort cards" in their hands and jab them in front of you. a new click for each person. clickclickclick. $39 for one girl to your hotel room and $75 for 2! i have a nice collection of cards i plan to make into postcards. want one?

These type of shoe shine stands are everpresent in Hossana. Given the degree of mud during this rainy season (many months), their presence is either foolhardy or smart like a fox..

Yesterday, when the weatherman said, "possibility of rain on Saturday", and I saw on my Google Homepage the single word "Storm" superimposed on a graphic cloud, I was unimpressed.

But the thunder I heard this morning was encouraging, so I stepped inside to analyse my chances for making it to the lake on the trail without getting my camera wet (a disaster in 2008 had convinced that I'd never want that to happen again).

I was greeted by the sparkling residue from a very small shower, along with the lovely aroma of damp earth.

A vibrant, "Flickring" light display was being projected from the pond surface to the rocks, and I was inspired to video! (An exceedingly rare inspiration for me).

One must squint to barely notice the sparkling reflections which were the intended subject, but I thought that the morning bird songs were enough to compensate, so I present the experience, Willie's everpresent mudbucket and all!

Sara finds some wild bougainvillea and decorates her handlebars. We have finally found the ease that I thought would be everpresent in Baja. It seems obvious now, but you only have the ease you bring with you.

Our flat was in Silema - Bishop Cariorlana (?) Street. We were on the top floor, above us was a fabulous ( for a small boy) roof terrace. Note the everpresent newspapers ....

A massive inversion layer in Hope Valley today. THis is mid aftfernoon, by which time I'd have expected everything to have burnt off. This shot is taken almost into the sun, so it's a bit contrasty. THe ND grad has fixed the everpresent layer of pollution on the horizon, giving a 'nice' pinkish layer.

The everpresent construction crane standing over North Hills, east of Six-Forks Road. This is an HDR rendering of the photo

The everpresent skua hovers over a gentoo colony

This is the first thing I saw when I arrived at the airport, roaming just a few hundred metres from the runway. I snapped this with the everpresent point-and-shoot.

Looking down Swaledale from Park Bridge. The seemingly everpresent mist and barn.

And of course the obligatory Sheep.
