un periodo un po' strano questo.
A pensarci dovrei essere felice, però è difficile esserlo davvero.
Vedremo.

Black and white portrait of my Grandparents.
Their love taught me that if you really love a person, a life is not enough.
Never seen such a scene, when someone took folded chairs from home to sit at the beach. That too so early morning.

You really shouldn't have called the teacher a stupid prick. Now you've earned yourself...ETERNAL DETENTION! Mwahahaha!
My most popular photo on Flickr (passed the 36,000 views in July 2011). Thank you all for your comments and views.
This photo is used a lot in blogs, however now the photo is available under Getty Images (see Owner settings). However I would still like many blog enthusiasts to use my photos, so I created a new one, under the creative commons license:

And to make things more cool, I also made animated ones, a light one here:

and a heavier one (two pointers) here:
With the 'Summer Milky Way season 2018 coming to an end, I had planned to return to my favorite Dutch Island 'Terschelling' for some final 2018 Milky Way shooting.
When the weekend before new-moon had beautiful clear skies, whilst the week after around new-moon appeared to turn grey and cloudy again.. I decided to take the boat and head out.
I would have less hours without moonlight, but it was way better than having to wait for the new-moon weekend and take chances to not be able at all to shoot some last season's end Milky Way shots.
Eventually stepping off the boat in Terschelling-West my plan to go to the East side of the island to the International Dark Sky Park 'De Boschplaat', fall apart when my transportation-reservation didn't arrive.
So a quick change of plans 'with the sun slowly lowering towards the horizon had me take a 45min walk... "with all my backs..." to a new location, a location I had in mind to either go last may, or the next Milk Way season...
...but there I went to it that moment instead...
Shortly said.. I never had been to this location, and it was AMAZING!
A new part of the island filled with beautiful locations to capture the Night-time beauty in all it's glory..
And the Milky Way shots I had planned for on the East side of the Island wouldn't probably have turned out as Beautiful as they did at 'this location.
I planned this 'long overdue' September Milky Way Panorama, as a re-due from my very first visit to Terschelling in the beginning of September 2016..
--but ended up taking a completely new Milky Way Bow in a location and setting I couldn't have planned....
The sight of this cross made by some people sticking out lonely, on top of the dunes, ..with the innumerable stars and the Milky Way hovering above and all around you like a canopy..
..it just made you awe and wonder...

The beauty of a rose is timelessly classic, universal, and eternal. A monochrome capture of a perfect rose bud after a rain. Morning light creates the quiet atmosphere.
Eternal Flame Memorial commemorates the murder of tens of thousands innocent people by the nazis and their helpers.
There is only a small inscription in Russian
Rostov-on-Don, Russia
'The Fear emerged from the shadows many years ago. It came to bring pain and death. Our home island became our prison. He took many of our brothers and sisters. We were left completely defenseless. But one day the hope appeared. The man in green cloak, with a blunt sword in one hand and a mysterious stone in the other. He defeated the creature and sealed it in it's Eternal Prison. But I will tell you this story another time. You must be very hungry after such a long journey. Please, help yourself.'

The blind faith she held in her heart never faltered and never waned, for she was the beacon who's light could never be dimmed... She was hope, eternal and everlasting...
My eyes pop open as my cell phone shrieks in my ear. I pick it up and glance at the time. 3:30AM. Time to get up.
As I struggle to wake up, I throw on my hiking boots and jacket. It is hard not to slide back into the sleeping bag and get some more rest. That all changes the instant I step out into the cold night air. I look up and see the vastness of the universe overhead. "Not a cloud in the sky," I think to myself.
As I hike out into the snow covered meadow, the piercing quiet is only occasionally broken by the distant call of an owl. The moon rises overhead, illuminating the mountains with its subtle glow. Despite the moon's light, the stars are still quite clear. As I lay in the icy snow working to get the composition and focus right, I think to myself, "Boy am I glad I didn't crawl back into that warm sleeping bag." Even if the conditions had not been cooperative for photography it is still an absolutely amazing place to be. Complete silence, with the stars overhead as the moon rises above the distant mountain peaks... what else could I ask for? What a magical moment.

Piazza Navona is one of the most famous and arguably the most beautiful of Rome's many squares.
The large and lively square features no less than three magnificent fountains. Another eyecatcher is the Baroque church of Sant'Agnese in Agone.
i loved this place and returned when i could to experience it at different times of day .
...that is what flower photography has done for me :)

After a busy day, creating this image, helped me to reach inner peace and quiet.
Questi sono i miei nonni, e in loro vedo ancora quell'amore che li ha catturati quando erano giovani e che li accompagna tutt'oggi.

My heart leaps when I see this photo. I can still feel the drama of the impending thunder storm and the energy in the air. Oh, Yosemite! There is no other place on Earth quite like it. This was taken on our 25th Wedding Anniversary.
Eternal song ;)
I would like to thank all of you who like my "art"!
"...Close your eyes, give me your hand, darling
Do you feel my heart beating, do you understand?
Do you feel the same, am I only dreaming?
Is this burning an eternal flame?..."
It feels like that at the moment!
A shot from the Scandinavia trip in January. This was taken in deep snow in Finland. It was about a meter deep. I was either hoping for proper cold or warmer this weekend. But it looks like it will be in between again...
Someone contacted me this week and they want to fly me out to Zermatt in July to photograph their wedding in the Summer so that's cool.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
The Eternal Indian,or as popularly known Blackhawk, statue in Lowden Park looks over the Rock River Valley near Oregon,IL. The popular landmark, designed by Lorado Taft, has been in a state of flux for years. It has been in dire need of restoration for years and was covered to protect it against the elements until the proper funding could be found. Supposedly it has been, but nobody is holding their breath-they have heard that story for many years.
Abraham Lincoln served during the Blackhawk War despite having no previous military experience. He made captain of his company though he saw no combat. It had a lasting impression on the young Lincoln and forged connections he used in later life.
