An autumn day at Rikugien

Spring is right around the corner! Spring and fall are my favorite times of year. The photographic opportunities that spring bring along with the moderate temps and extended evenings are just wonderful. Waterfalls like this one explode with new growth and wildflowers and everything is just so fresh and new. I am predicting the best spring ever this year. I am not basing that prediction on anything at all but I don't need any supporting evidence to get excited about the change in seasons. There are blossoming trees outside my window and that is all the evidence I need. Speaking of waterfalls, and this one in particular, we are holding our first 2 day workshop of the year in the Columbia River Gorge next month and still have a few spots open. If you love waterfalls like I do, and want to become a waterfall pro, I am confident we can get you there over the weekend and have a hell of a good time doing it. Waterfalls are one of my biggest passions and sharing that passion with others is a whole lot of fun. We only have 2 spots left for our Palouse workshop in May and that is also guaranteed to be a great one. Now that we are heading out of the rainy season we can put away the umbrellas and get down to some serious shooting! I hope everyone is having a great week. I have been very busy lately and only have time to jump on flickr here and there but I do see everyone's images and comment when I can. I was going to go on a mini rant tonight but I think I will save it for another time. :) Get out there and shoot!

And all my days are trances

And all my nightly dreams

Are where thy dark eye glances

And where thy footstep gleams—

In what ethereal dances

By what eternal streams.

In the middle of the winter I found that I have eternal spring inside my heart.

The velvet seats of this grand auditorium, bathed in an eerie, amber glow, whisper tales of countless nights spent in the company of phantoms. Each seat, a crimson throne, has cradled a thousand souls, all lost in the rapture of the stage's sorcery.

This photo captures more than just empty chairs; it's a mausoleum of memories, where the specters of laughter, tears, and applause are eternally etched into the fabric. The atmosphere is thick with the ghosts of performances past, the air still vibrating with the echoes of a final standing ovation.

The lone seat left up, as though someone has just departed, or perhaps it awaits a solitary spectator, a phantom patron of the arts, whose presence is as elusive as the fleeting nature of fame. It's a scene that could be right out of one of my own twisted tales – a setting where the line between the living and the departed blurs, where every performance is a seance calling forth the spirits of thespians long gone.

The image itself, a scene set in suspense, like the moment before the curtain lifts to reveal a world where drama and reality dance macabrely hand in hand. It's a beautiful capture of the stillness that screams of past life, each thread in the crimson upholstery holding a story, a secret, a silent scream for an encore that will never come.

Keep capturing these silent stories, for every picture is a silent play, awaiting a discerning eye to hear its wordless tale.

There she is

wanderin’ through an ol’ cane break

that muse that stole my soul

Dancing upon a grave

that once held a heart

the very same

she held for a day

Little did I know

the obsession

would hold on to me

with the grip

of a reaper come to

collect

Now tis’ nothin’

but tears

for a love

lost that meets

GODs feet

As I cry myself

to eternal sleep

The next batch of pictures to do with love as decided to use one of my photos for my husbands Valentines Day card.

Just got to decide which one to use!

Took my time setting this one up but the pictures felt a little flat so decided to process them a bit more than I normally would.

I was so happy that this sunset turned out so great, a it was quite adventurous to get to this place after all! I just followed a lil 2m wide track not knowing where I would end up. Parked my car literally in the bush after it became to sandy and had to walk the rest thru bush and sand dunes. Note to myself: next car has to be 4WD ;)

Naminé is the newest member of Arthoniel's Home for the Forgotten of Song and Tale.

She is an Eternal, a magical creature that can only be killed by a mortal wound by either a Dragon, a Unicorn, or a Phoenix. She is protected by her shapeshifting animal, Ichigo (not pictured), and does not go anywhere without her.

Ichigo will make an appearance very soon in Naminé's story when it progresses further.

Everyone, please welcome Naminé!
