In the Cuban hotel where he spent much time writing, his room is a small museum and this was his typewriter.
The itinerary included stops in Key West, Florida, and Bimini Island in the Bahamas, two charming destinations that balanced relaxation with a sense of adventure.
Who lies here asleep?
They are just below the surface about six feet deep.
Is this the view President Lincoln may have seen?
He often returned in this direction to his summer cottage from the cemetery through the oak and evergreen.
At that time the U.S. flag had stars which numbered thirty four.
We are still struggling with similar issues with fifty stars as we did before.
Ernest Hemingway’s first love, Agnes, rests in Section “O” just inside the Harewood Road fence.
My last love, Gwen, rests in Section “Q” where the headstones are uniform and dense.
Both our loves were nurses and not with us anymore.
We can summons them with Arlington National Cemetery’s motto:
Honor – Remember - Explore
Formerly the Hotel Venitia, where, in early 1926, Hemingway conducted an adulterous affair with Pauline Pfeiffer while married to Hadley. He and Hadley separated in the summer of 1926, divorced in January 1927, and Pfeiffer and Hemingway were married in May 1927.

Paper Negative Print
I am pretty happy w/ this print. I realized this week that my zoom lens (Takumar-A f/4 70-200mm Zoom Macro) for the Pentax is a macro - I think I'll enjoy taking some macro photos.
Again, you'll notice in the top left the sprocket marks. Just not sure what happened. After some discussion, I might not have got the film on to the reel evenly.
I'll rachet the film on a lot more carefully next week.
For the scavenger hunt assignment, one of the items to take a photo of was hero. I've got a couple of men that I think fall into this catagory; Hemingway, Ansel Adams and Sir Edmund Hillary.
Perhaps they're not heroes in the true sense of the word, but they are most ceratinly men that inspire me.
This is a list of the most translated authors. They have truely spread across the world more than any other ideas. I scanned it from the Stonehenge Issue of National Geographic.
How many have you read?

Featured is a Ernest Hemingway quote: “We are all apprentices in a craft where no one ever becomes a master.” Graphic design by Barbara Elder features many open books in pale shades of white, ivory, gold, and orange.
During our visit to the Custom House Museum (281 Front St.), my mother posed next to this bronze Ernest Hemingway sculpture by artist Terry Jones.
