Little Grebe could be considered the Old World equivalent of Least Grebe (T. dominicus), as it is in the same genus and is of similar size. Little Grebe is found widely in Europe, Africa, and Asia, whereas Least Grebe is primarily distributed in South and Central America. The individual in this photo is a nonbreeding bird, with brownish plumage — breeding birds have a chestnut area on the side of the head and the neck. A close look at this image shows the yellow patch at the base of the bill. The scene was the Bueng Boraphet wetlands in Nakhon Sawan province, Thailand.
1939 Bentley 4¼ Liter Drophead Tourer Coachwork by Vanden Plas.
Walter O. Bentley's company was purchased by Rolls-Royce, Ltd. in 1931 and moved from Cricklewood, London to Rolls' Derby works. The Bentley cars produced from 1933 through 1939 are known as the 'Derby Bentleys.' The first of these was based on the current-series Rolls-Royce 202/25-horsepower chassis but was reconfigured to use the 20/25's 2.75-liter engine. The 126-inch bare chassis left the factory to be bodied by outside coachbuilders.
The new 4.25-Litre (4,257cc) model, introduced in 1936, had an increase in power over the previous model while retaining the well-proven chassis with servo-assisted braking and faultless gear-change. This new engine was shared with the equivalent Rolls-Royce, the 25/30hp, and as had been the case with the preceding 3½-Litre model, was a superior specification in Bentley form, fitted with twin SU carburetors, raised compression ratio, and a more 'sporting' camshaft. Equipped with twin SU carburetors, the 4,257cc overhead valve inline 6-cylinder engine delivered 126 horsepower at 4,500 RPM. The introduction of the Hall's Metal bearings would eventually lead to an adoption of an overdrive gearbox and improved lubrication system, improvements which coincided with the introduction of the 'M' series cars in 1939. Approximately 200 examples were produced during 1939 (a total of 1,234 examples during its production lifespan), and they were renowned for their reliability, refinement, and long-distance cruising capabilities.
This Bentley 4.25 Litre is one of the most famous Derby Bentleys. It was fitted with striking open tourer 'cut-down door' - style coachwork by Vanden Plas of London and finished in a color scheme that earned it the nickname of 'Honeysuckle.' The 4.25 Litre was originally ordered by Captain E. Molyneaux with coachwork by Thrupp & Maberly, which was almost immediately removed and placed on another Bentley owned by Molyneaux. Vanden Plas then made this replacement body, which was delivered in June of 1939. After the Second World War ended, it was owned for a short time by William Douglas-Home, the playwright and brother of the former British Prime Minister, Sir Alec Douglas-Home.

Snowy Owl
The Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus) is a large, white owl of the typical owl family. Snowy Owls are native to Arctic regions in North America and Eurasia. Younger Snowy Owls start with darker plumage, which turns lighter as they get older. Males are almost all white, while females have more flecks of gray plumage.

Alright, first of it's kind!; while it was clear that I would wonder into deep IR territory one day, it was not planned especially since I just disclosed the shorter wavelengths for myself with the start of this year so there is still plenty to learn and discover (also due to my unfortunate hand situation). However, I received a ridiculous offer that would have been plain stupid to not take advantage of, since I'm totally convinced of the quality of heliopan filters, but they are freakin' expensive. So I'm rather pleased with this situation to say the least, regardless of how I will like or find use for this particular wavelength (1000nm longpass). Time will tell.. 🤔
Obviously nothing fancy or thought-out in terms of composition, it was mid afternoon, on a hill and literally just seconds before the sun disappeared; days are short at the moment. The light came by almost horizontal, see the flare / ghosting to the right.
Minimal and simple development, though somewhat dark / moody, I refrained from lifting the shadows, flatten the image and lose the innate ratios, despite being odd.
There is also a weird 3D effect to the cloud in the center, duplicate patterns due to bad stitching I thought first; but nope, it's real. ✨
I'm also kind of on the verge of grasping, or imagining, how many lovely yet subtle nuances can be had with monochrome develop-ments, notably sepia by just applying split toning after simple but complete desaturation. Looking forward to exploring that further..

I spotted this frogfish from the underwater equivalent of "a mile away". She is probably 10-15 cm long (i.e., one of the biggest frogfish we have found) and was perched on top of a sponge shaped like a tower that wasn't even matching her color. So definitely no bonus points for finding this froggy, But they are still a thrill to encounter, especially if they are out in the open where a clean shot is possible!
From last summer, or late spring I should say, on a super long walk, enjoying handheld single shot IR experience. Interesting how the significance of an image changes, once the subject / location is gone or altered.
This is the entrance of a ~4km canyon, with a stream and track, kinda nice, but a severe storm flattened lots of forest there last summer, so this spot looks very different now!
Fun fact, I was actually in the canyon while it all happend. If there is a proper chance to get killed by falling trees or lightning, that was it. (I couldn't have know of course.) It is an eerie story actually, but I spare you the details.
I was half-way in the canyon until the weather got borderline crazy, so I turned around and the way back was like a survival obstacle course, climbing over and under fallen trees in intense rain with lightning while the wind was still ripping out whole batches of forest, breaking huge trees like toothpicks. I will never forget the sound that makes!
The parking lot was covered in trees already also, it would have been the end of my car if I had parked there, but I didn't for some reason. That shit was serious.. 💨 ⛈️ 🌲🌲 🌳 🌲

As seen on a stormy afternoon from the rooftop parking lot of the Orchards shopping center in Walnut Creek, California.
This panorama was made by photo-stitching 3 horizontal images taken at 140mm (full-frame equivalent).
A wide angle shot (18mm FF equivalent) taken on a dull and cold winter's afternoon looking south across the Thames Estuary to the mouth of the River Medway, flanked by Sheerness and the Isle of Grain. In the foreground is old Barge Pier and the decaying remains of Gogs Berth, originally part of the former Old Ranges - Shoebury Barracks site.

Without delving deep into history and politics, let's just say I'm a firm believer in dreams and oppose myths, especially national myths. The latest invasion is clearly fueled by myths, as clearly as was the one that happened 30+ years ago.
Here, a heavy transport aircraft Antonov An-225 Mriya (Dream) during boarding (although probably not at that time) 140 tons heavy power transformer made by Končar Power Transformers for the Philippine San Lorenzo power plant. The flight shortened the delivery time from 40-45 days to just two.
Taken from the observation terrace of Zagreb's airport, while trying to get as clear view as possible, November 2013.
Let's hope a new dream will be flying again, let's hope this invasion will stop soon.

Dam because I'm at The Dalles Dam... get it. No? You think its gay? Oh...ok.
Anyway also dam because had The Dalles Dam not been as heavily guarded by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (probably due to a certain event in 2001) you might have a chance of going further out and getting a beautiful shot of UP showing off more of the train and the lake. But whatever nifty fifty did the job.
From what I can gather the yank equivalent of a C44ACi leads a GT46ACe past The Dalles DAM taking whatever they managed to string together at Hinkle Yard to Albina Yard in Portland (I'm guessing)
