Nicht nur genug Zeit um die besten Ecken und Blickwinkel für hübsche Bilder zu entdecken, es ist auch genug Zeit um mit Ebbe, Flut, Wellen, Sonne, Wolken, Wind, Regen, Hagel, den Vögeln, Seehunden, Muscheln, Felsen und Pflanzen weitestgehend eins zu werden. Entschleunigung als Grundlage für eine nahezu perfekte Naturerfahrung .

It is not only enough time to discover the best spots and angles for beautiful photos, but also enough time to become truly at one with the ebb and flow of the tide, the waves, sun, clouds, wind, rain, and hail—as well as the birds, seals, seashells, rocks, and plants. Eine neue Serie von mir, begonnen um ein paar ungewöhnliche Aufnahmen zu machen. Wie die meisten Besucher meines Fotostreams wissen, fotografiere ich für gewöhnlich Landschaften, Makros und Sonnenuntergänge. Aber es gibt mehr zu entdecken für einen Fotofreund und ich hoffe, mehr zu entdecken!

In Städten und auf dem Land möchte ich zu meiner Erinnerung rasch einfache, entdeckte, stille Stellen zeichnen - immer vor Ort - in der Vorstellung, allein zu sein, auch ohne den überquellenden Verkehr um mich herum. Weil ich aber für solch eine Zeichnung etwa eine halbe Stunde brauche, kann ich nur entdecken, sehen und arbeiten, wenn ich allein bin. Das ist selten der Fall.
In cities and in the country I want to my memory quickly simple, discovered, hidden places draw - always there - in the idea of being alone, even without the overflowing traffic around me. But because I need about half an hour for such a drawing, I can only discover, see and work, when I'm alone. That's rarely the case.

This little calf played quite some time, till it realised that two strange big animals with 4 whells stood nearby and then "fled" into safety and watched as carefully from underneath his mother.
Bei unserem letzten Besuch in St. Peter Ording haben wir zur Goldenen Stunde bis Sonnenuntergang eine kleine Foto-Tour am Strand gemacht. Ich war erstaunt wie viele schöne Motive sich dort entdecken lassen, wenn man ausreichend Zeit mitbringt.
On our last visit to St. Peter-Ording, we went on a little photo walk along the beach from golden hour through sunset. I was amazed by how many beautiful photo subjects there are to discover when you take the time to really look around.

Ein Ausflug nach Wien
Alle, die keinen Urlaub machen können, mögen mich auf einer Runde durch Wien begleiten. Vorbei an den berühmten Sehenswürdigkeiten, aber vielleicht auch abseits Sehenswertes entdecken ...
… am Fuße der Wiener Urania. Wenn es schön gemacht ist, empfinde ich es als Kunst, die mich durchaus begeistern kann …
Das Gebäude der Wiener Urania wurde um 1910 fertiggestellt und beherbergt heute neben einer Volkshochschule, die Sternwarte, ein Kino, das Urania-Puppentheater und ein Café-Bar-Restaurant.
Hans und Marianne Kraus haben ab 1950 hier ihre Kasperlvorstellungen vorgeführt. Seit 1957 liefen diese auch im österreichischen Fernsehen und waren Teil meiner Kindheit, mit Kasperl, Pezi und dem Drachen Dagobert. Später übernahm Manfred Müller die Puppenbühne und seit 2018 ist der österreichische Künstler André Heller damit betraut.

The building was completed around 1910 and today houses an adult education centre, the observatory, a cinema, the Urania puppet theatre and a café-bar-restaurant.
Hans and Marianne Kraus presented their Punch and Judy shows here from 1950. From 1957 these also ran on Austrian television and were part of my childhood, with Punch, Pezi and the dragon Dagobert. Later, Manfred Müller took over the puppet stage and since 2018, the Austrian artist André Heller has been entrusted with it.
Birdwatching along the Elbe River.
Although the nearest breeding grounds are probably only 100 km away, the black-tailed godwit is rarely seen at this location. That’s why all the birdwatchers were thrilled to spot a few black-tailed godwits among the other birds here.
Uferschnepfe
Obwohl die nächsten Brutgebiete wohl nur 100km entfernt sind, ist die Uferschnepfe an diesen Punkt nur selten zu sehen. Darum waren alle Beobachter begeistert hier ein paar Uferschnepfen zwischen den anderen Vögeln zu entdecken.

Unterwegs bei einem Fotowalk im Mützenicher Venn. Der Wind peitscht mir die Schneeflocken ins Gesicht. Man ist jetzt nahezu allein unterwegs im Hohen Venn. Die Natur zeigt sich von seiner rauen Seite. Genau danach suche ich.

Auch wenn die Massen ungehemmt durch das Straßburger Münster laufen bleibt für Hans-Guck-in-die-Lufte genügend zu entdecken...
Die Katharinenkapelle wurde 1331 - 1349 gebaut. Das Rosettengewölbe jedoch wurde erst 1542-47 von Bernhard Nonnenmacher eingefügt. Die Glasmalereien stammen von
Johann von Kirchheim welcher in der Chronik als Glasmaler
der Straßburger Hauptkirche 1348 erwähnt wird.

Natürlich ein Affront. Es wurde vom französischen Staat bezahlt aber das glättete die Wogen der Entrüstung nicht.
Die Bevölkerung hätte sich eher an ein historisch und optisch angepassteres Material entschieden...
Wer sich tiefer für die Katharinenkapelle interessiert, der lese den sehr detailierten Internetauftritt mit gleichem Namen!
St. Catherine's Chapel was built between 1331 and 1349. The rosette vault, however, was inserted only 1542-47 by Bernhard Nonnenmacher. The stained glass windows were made by
Johann von Kirchheim who is listed in the chronicle as the glass painter of the of the main church in Strasbourg in 1348.
On the left (west) the fairly new window of the 100 faces of 2015.... Of course an affront. It was paid by French state but that did not smooth the waters of indignation.
The population would have rather opted for a more historically and visually appropriate material....

Nur ein paar Meter neben meinem Zelt ist ein sehr hübscher Sandstrand. Eine Leute gingen zum Baden. Ja, 300 km nördlich des Polarkreises scheint dies ein wenig evrrückt, aber durch den Golfstrom hat das Wasser hier 14 - 15 °C. Ich gehe lieber das für mich Bergmenschen aufregend andere maritime Umfeld entdecken.

Just a few meters from my tent is a very pretty sandy beach. Some people went swimming. Yes, 300 km north of the Arctic Circle this seems a bit crazy, but thanks to the Gulf Stream the water here is 14 - 15 °C. I prefer to go and explore the maritime environment, which is exciting for a mountain person like me.

Der Wienfluss teilt den Stadtpark in zwei Teile. An dieser Promenade lässt es sich herrlich flanieren, bis man zu dem Wienfluss-Portal kommt. Über die Stufen gelangt man zur historischen U-Bahn Station "Stadtpark".

The Vienna River divides the city park into two parts. This promenade is a wonderful place to stroll until you reach the Vienna River Portal. The steps lead to the historic underground station "Stadtpark".

Hier treffen sich die neobarocke Bauweise der Wiener Urania mit dem moderenem Baustil des UNIQA Tower aus 2005, die sich am Donaukanal gegenüber stehen.
Das Gebäude der Wiener Urania wurde um 1910 fertiggestellt und beherbergt heute neben einer Volkshochschule, die Sternwarte, ein Kino, das Urania-Puppentheater und ein Café-Bar-Restaurant.
Unter der Brücke auf der ich stehe, fließt der Wienfluss in den Donaukanal. Der heutige Donaukanal war bis zur Zeit von Kaiser Franz Joseph der natürliche Verlauf der Donau.
Der UNIQA Tower ist ein Bürogebäude, das den Grundriss eines Q hat, in dem die UNIQA Versicherung untergebracht ist. Das Gebäude hat 21 Obergeschoße und 5 Untergeschoße. Die Medienfassade ist mit etwa 160.000 LEDs ausgestattet und wird damit auch als Plakatwand genutzt.

This is where the neo-baroque architecture of the Vienna Urania meets the modern architectural style of the UNIQA Tower from 2005, which stand opposite each other on the Danube Canal.
The building of the Vienna Urania was completed around 1910 and today houses an adult education centre, the observatory, a cinema, the Urania puppet theatre and a café-bar-restaurant.
Under the bridge I am standing on, the Vienna River flows into the Danube Canal. Today's Danube Canal was the natural course of the Danube until the time of Emperor Franz Joseph.
The UNIQA Tower is an office building with the grund plan of a Q, housing the UNIQA insurance company. The building has 21 upper floors and 5 basement floors. The media facade is equipped with about 160,000 LEDs and is thus also used as a billboard.
Breinig is a small city in western Germany with a population of about 5000 people. It is one of the gates to the "Eifel", a mountainous area with many forests, lakes and quaint little villages much beloved among tourists. Since it is also near to the larger cities of Aachen, Cologne and Düsseldorf as well as the neighbouring countries of Belgium and The Netherlands it makes also for a great place to live.
In the 8th and 9th centuries Breinig was settled by the romans and served mainly as an outpost for mining various ores. The name itself dates back to around 1300. During the copper age great wealth came to the region since the calamine in the area was used to make copper and tin. The church (St. Barbara), whose towers can be seen in the distance, was built from 1852 to 1858. During the Second World War the allied troops stormed the area on the 14th of September 1944 and created the so called "Stolberg-Corridor." Today all that is left from this time are the tank tracks which have been etched into the landscape of the "Schlangenberg."

This is what it looks like when a cold night passes in early spring.
Ice crystals have spread across the fresh leaves of this young nettle, like a frosty shell.
Even though I would like it to be a little warmer, I'm still happy to see such unusual sights.
This photo was, by the way, also taken in the Polenz Valley in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, not far from the snow flake meadow. As you can see, there's much more to discover here besides the flowers.
So sieht es aus, wenn im zeitigen Frühling eine kalten Nacht vorüber geht.
Auf den frischen Blättern dieser jungen Brennnessel haben sich, wie ein frostiger Panzer, Eiskristalle ausgebreitet.
Auch wenn ich es gerne etwas wärmer hätte, so bin ich doch froh über solche ungewöhnlichen Anblicke.
Dieses Foto entstand übrigens ebenfalls im Polenztal im Elbsandsteingebirge unweit der Märzenbecher Wiese. Wie Ihr seht, gibts hier außer den Blumen noch mehr zu entdecken.

It became famous through the show and teaching gardens created by Karl Foerster in 1937 with more than a thousand different perennials and over 250 varieties of iris in the water garden. Here you can not only enjoy nature and the garden on a walk, but there are also numerous sculptures to discover. Not to forget the island café and the large playground where you can spend the day as a family. Friendhip Island is a small paradise among the green spaces of Potsdam.

Auf dem jüdischen Kulturschiff MS Goldberg kommen Werke neuer, bekannter und vergessener jüdischer Künstler*innen zur Aufführung. Das Programm knüpft an die lebendige jüdische Theater- und Musikszene an, deren pulsierendes Zentrum Berlin bis zum Beginn des Nationalsozialismus war. Die Veranstaltungen auf der MS Goldberg sind vielfältig: Theaterstücke, Lesungen, Revuen, Konzerte, Filmabende, Talkrunden und experimentelle Präsentationsformen wollen an Verlorenes erinnern, das Gemeinsame feiern und dem Neuen eine Heimat geben. Das Publikum ist eingeladen, die Werke historischer und lebender Autor*innen und Künstler*innen zu entdecken und sich auf neue Perspektiven für eine multikulturelle Gesellschaft einzulassen.
Die schwimmende MS Goldberg ist das erste und einzige jüdische Kulturschiff. Vor seinem Umbau zum Kulturschiff schipperte es seit 1964 als Frachtschiff durch die Kanäle. Es ist benannt nach einem kleinen Ort in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, ist 67 Meter lang, 8,20 Meter breit und hat 160 Sitzplätze unter Deck.
Works by new, well-known and forgotten Jewish artists are performed on the Jewish culture ship MS Goldberg. The program ties in with the lively Jewish theater and music scene, of which Berlin was the vibrant center until the beginning of National Socialism. The events on the MS Goldberg are diverse: plays, readings, revues, concerts, film evenings, discussions and experimental forms of presentation aim to remember what has been lost, celebrate what we have in common and give a home to what is new. The audience is invited to discover the works of historical and living authors and artists and to engage in new perspectives for a multicultural society.
The floating MS Goldberg is the first and only Jewish cultural ship. Before it was converted into a culture ship, it had sailed through the canals as a cargo ship since 1964. It is named after a small town in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, is 67 meters long, 8.20 meters wide and has 160 seats below deck.
