Αυτές είναι οι στιγμές που ο ουρανός ζωγραφίζεται με ζεστά χρώματα,
η δημιουργία στον ορίζοντα φαίνεται να καίει και να λιώνει
κάτω από το μεγαλείο του Ηλιου βασιλιά.
Και η λάμψη αυτού του φωτός αντανακλάται στην καρδιά
Ένα άλμα σε άγνωστες ομορφιές.
Η θάλασσα εκτείνεται ατέλειωτα
ενωμένοι με τον ουρανό και τα σύννεφα.
Και πετάς σαν πουλί για να ανακαλύψεις νέους μαγικούς κόσμους
και σου αρέσει να βλέπεις τον κόσμο σαν να ειναι η πρώτη φορά
Ζείς τη μαγεία σαν να ειναι η τελευταία φορά ...

An einem der angesagtesten hot spots des Jahres, dem Pragser Wildsee. Instagram und Co beschleunigen in den letzten Jahren den Fototourismus mit teilweise verheerenden Folgen für Umwelt und Natur, siehe Island als bestes Beispiel, wo die Regierung prüft, diese Art des Tourismus einzudämmen. Auch hier, am Lago di Braies werden asphaltierte Flächen aus dem Boden gestampft um möglichst viele Automobile hier oben, so nahe wie möglich am Ort des Naturschauspiels, zu parken. Eine höchst bedenkliche Entwicklung, der sich allerdings auch wir nicht entziehen konnten...es ist einfach atemberaubend schön.

Bei einem vergangenen USA-Trip haben wir endlich die Alabama Hills in Kalifornien besucht – ein Ort, der schon lange ganz oben auf unserer ToDo-Liste stand.
Die beeindruckende Landschaft hat meine Erwartungen übertroffen. Besonders für Fotografen gibt es hier unzählige tolle Motive und Perspektiven zu entdecken.
Während einer Erkundungs-Wanderung zog plötzlich ein Unwetter auf und sorgte für eine ganz besondere Stimmung. Viel Zeit ließen wir uns allerdings nicht: Nach einem kurzen Foto machten wir uns lieber zügig auf den Rückweg zum Auto.
On a previous trip to the USA, we finally visited the Alabama Hills in California – a place that had been high on our bucket list for a long time.
The impressive landscape exceeded my expectations. Especially for photographers, there are countless great photo subjects and perspectives to discover.
While we were out on an exploratory hike, a storm suddenly rolled in and created a very special atmosphere. We didn’t linger for long, though: after taking a quick photo, we headed back to the car as quickly as possible.

Satemin ist der größte erhaltene Rundling im Wendlandwurde nach einem Großbrand 1850 in einheitlicher Bauweise wieder aufgebaut, und auf dem jeweiligen Spruchbalken wird stets die Feuersbrunst beklagt. Ein malerischer Dorfplatz, umsäumt von wunderschönen, alten Hallenhäusern niederdeutscher Bauart, lädt zum Verweilen ein. Satemin ist der ideale Ausgangsort für Radtouren und Wanderungen durch Felder, Wald und Wiesen und zum Entdecken der wendländischen Rundlingsdörfer.

Satemin is the largest surviving Rundling in Wendland was rebuilt after a major fire in 1850 in a uniform design, and on the respective banner is always complained of conflagration. A picturesque village square, surrounded by beautiful, old hall houses of low German design, invites you to linger. Satemin is the ideal starting point for cycling tours and hikes through fields, forests and meadows and to discover the Wendland Rundlingsdörfer.

Das ehemalige Stationsgebäude der Wiener Stadtbahn vom Architekten und Stadtplaner Otto Wagner (1841 – 1918) am Karlsplatz ist ein wunderschöner Jugendstilpavillon. Heute kann man dort eine Ausstellung zum Leben und Werk Otto Wagners besichtigen.

The former station building of the Vienna City Railway by architect and urban planner Otto Wagner (1841 - 1918) on Karlsplatz is a beautiful Art Nouveau pavilion. Today you can visit an exhibition on the life and work of Otto Wagner there.

With this photo of a beautiful morning at the truly impressive cliffs of Ponta da Piedade in southern Portugal, our "journey through time" through Europe comes to an end. Our journey itself isn't over yet, however, because tomorrow we'll be heading west across the Atlantic. After all, there's still a lot to discover outside of Europe.
By the way, I'd like to add that, for once, I've replaced the sky here (for the first time ever). Without this change, the image simply wouldn't have been presentable. And since I love this bay with its rocks so much, I definitely wanted to give it a stage.
Mit diesem Foto vom einem wunderschönen Morgen an den überaus beeindruckenden Klippen von Ponta da Piedade im Süden Portugals, endet unsere "Zeitreise" durch Europa. Unsere Reise selbst ist jedoch noch ncht vorbei, denn morgen machen wir uns auf in Richtung Westen über den Atlantik. Schließlich gibt es außerhalb Europas auch noch einiges zu entdecken.
Bei diesem Foto möchte ich übrigens hinzufügen, dass ich hier ausnahmsweise einmal den Himmel ausgetauscht habe (das erste Mal überhaupt). Ohne diesen Eingriff war das Bild einfach nicht vorzeigbar. Und da mir jedoch diese Bucht mit den Felsen so sehr gefällt, wolte ich ihr unbedingt eine Bühne geben.

Italien / Südtirol - Labyrinthsteig am Latemar
This walk, ideal also for families, takes us through a labyrinth of rocks and stones, face to face with the Latemar mountain.
With changable weather conditions we start at the Passo di Costalunga, where we follow the signposts no. 21 and 17, stretching underneath the Latemar. First we walk along a broad forested trail, until we reach the first signpost “Labyrinth”. Immediately the forest ends and the mighty Latemar towers into the sky in front of our eyes.
The labyrinth is a lunarscape consisting of coarse gravel and rocks. But is there also a trail? If you watch out for the red-white signpost, you are easily going to find it. You don’t need to climb, but you need to walk stone tunnels and steps cut in stone.
At the end of the labyrinth we continue across the forest to the Mitterleger mountain hut, from where we take the “Perlenweg” (no. 21) towards the Passo di Costalunga, leading through beautiful larch forests. An easy trail, less adventuresome than the labyrinth, but if you keep your eyes open you can discover interesting details regarding the flora and fauna.

Diese Wanderung, die auch für Kinder gut geeignet ist, führt uns zum Steig durch das Labyrinth - eine Landschaft aus Felsen und Steinen im Schatten des Latemar.
Bei wechselhaftem Wetter machen wir uns am Karerpass auf und folgen dem Wegweisern Nr. 21 und 17 unter dem Latemar. Zuerst auf einem breiten Forstweg, dann, der Nr. 13 folgend, am Steig durch den Wald, erreichen wir die ersten Wegweiser zum “Labyrinth” (Nr. 20). Der Wald endet abrupt, und direkt unter den mächtigen Wänden des Latemar liegt es vor uns.
Das Labyrinth ist eine Mondlandschaft, die aus Geröll und Felsbrocken besteht, die wohl im Laufe der Zeit vom Latemar herunter gefallen sein müssen. Und wo soll hier ein Steig durchführen? Wer gut auf rot-weissen die Markierungen achtet, der wird ihn leicht finden. Richtig klettern muss man hier zwar nicht, aber es geht durch Felsentunnels und über in den Fels gehauene Stufen.
Am Ende des Labyrints geht es durch den Wald weiter bis zum Mitterleger, einer Almhütte. Von dort aus folgen wir der Markierung 21 (Perlenweg) in Richtung Karerpass, die durch die schönen Fichtenwälder führt. Ein leichter Weg, weniger spannend als das Labyrinth vielleicht, aber wer die Augen offen hält und sich auf die Flora und Fauna des Waldes besinnt, kann hier noch allerhand entdecken!

Wieder am Schwarzsee, aber mit einer anderen Perspektive. Auf einer kleinen Anhöhe oberhalb des Ufers, befindet sich ein kleiner Rastplatz. Ideal um eine Pause zu machen, innezuhalten und eben die Aussicht zu fotografieren.

Dieses Wochenende heißt es 3 Tage Natur pur. Übernachtung in der Hütte. Feiern, wandern, entdecken und fotografieren wird das Motto sein!

Idyllisch in der Talsohle des Vinschgau gelegen, umringt von majestätischen Bergen und einer malerischen Naturlandschaft, können sie in vielen Ecken und Winkeln von Glurns die Spuren aus längst vergangenen Zeiten entdecken und den besonderen Charme mit mittelalterlichem Flaire der kleinsten und zugleich ältesten Stadt Südtirols genießen.
Im Hintergrund sieht man die Frauenkirche, eine sehr sehenswerte herrliche, kleine Barock-Kirche.
Von 1665 bis 1669 errichtet, Turm 1885 von Anton Geppert umgebaut und mit einer Zwiebelhaube versehen.

In the background you can see the Frauenkirche, a very beautiful, small Baroque church.
Built from 1665 to 1669, rebuilt in 1885 by Anton Geppert and provided with an onion hood.

Die Eichwerder Moorwiesen sind ein Moor, das sich im Norden Berlins beidseits der Grenze zwischen Brandenburg und Berlin erstreckt. Früher haben im Tegeler Fließtal Enziane und Orchideen geblüht. Von der reichen Moorvegetation zeugen heute leider nur noch wenige Arten – aber immerhin kann man heute zum Beispiel Sumpfbaldrian oder Schlangen--knöterich entdecken. Dies ist einer gemeinsamen Aktion vom Natur-schutz-fonds Brandenburg un dem Naturpark Barnim zu verdanken, die gemeinsam diesen seltenen Lebensraum an der Grenze von Berlin und Brandenburg renaturierte, sodass sich die Eichwerder Moorwiesen immer mehr erholen. Denn in der Vergangenheit waren die Wiesen für die Viehzucht trockengelegt worden. Jetzt wird das Moor wieder vernässt, sodass auch die typische Moorvegetation langsam zurückkehrt und die nicht in ein Moor gehörenden Bäume, die auf den trockenen Wiesen gewachsen waren, absterben.

The Eichwerder Moor Meadows are a moor that extends in the north of Berlin near Lübars on both sides of the border between Brandenburg and Berlin. In the past, gentians and orchids flourished in the Tegel Brook Valley. Today, unfortunately, only a few species bear witness to the rich bog vegetation - but at least you can discover marsh valerian or bistort, for example. This is thanks to a joint project by the Brandenburg Nature Conservation Fund and the Barnim Nature Park, which together renaturalised this rare habitat on the border between Berlin and Brandenburg, so that the Eichwerder moor meadows are recovering more and more. In the past, the meadows had been drained for cattle breeding. Now the moor is being wetted again, so that the typical moorland vegetation is slowly returning and the trees that did not belong in a moor, which had grown on the dry meadows, are dying.

Manchmal wirkt es so, als gäbe es Handbücher aus älteren Zeiten als Gebrauchsanweisungen für nachfolgende Generationen.
Sometimes it seems that there are manuals from ancient times as instructions for future generations.
Es ist wunderbar, beim Aufräumen alte spontane Experimente und deren Aussagen zu entdecken und einfach zu staunen.
It is wonderful to discover old spontaneous experiments and their statements while cleaning up, and to marvel at them.
Das letzte Foto des Tages bei Harbatshofen wurde dann regelrecht zum "Wimmelbild", so viel gibt es darauf zu entdecken. Hauptdarsteller war natürlich 232 609 mit dem umgeleiteten EZ 45194 von Hall in Tirol nach Bludenz. Links kann man im Bildhintergrund noch die Kirche von Erbatshofen erkennen. Im Vordergrund war der Bauer mit Arbeiten auf dem Feld beschäftigt. In den Bergen braute sich inzwischen ein Gewitter zusammen - Zeit also, den Heimweg nach einem überaus erfolgreichen Ausflug ins Allgäu anzutreten.
There are many things to discover on my last picture of August 22nd 2018: The small village of Harbatshofen with its several farmyards. On the left side you can see the church of Erbatshofen at the background. In the foreground a farmer working on his field. And the headliner was DB Cargo's 232 609 with rerouted mixed freight train EZ 45194 from Hall in Tirol to Bludenz. In the mountains a thunderstorm was building up so it was time to go back home after this photo was made.
Kleine Wanderung (15 km) ganz in der Nähe meines Wohnortes. Das Wetter ist so schön, da muss man einfach raus ! Blüten oder gar Blätter sind hier noch kaum zu entdecken, alles steckt noch in den Startlöchern. Gefreut hab ich mich daher über dieses fotogene Schilf, welches überraschenderweise oben auf einer Anhöhe in fast 500 m Höhe gedeiht, höher geht es schon fast nicht im Odenwald.

A short hike (15 km) very close to where I live. The weather is so beautiful, you just have to get out! There are hardly any flowers or leaves to be seen here yet; everything is still in its infancy. So I was delighted to see this photogenic reed, which, surprisingly, is growing on a hill at almost 500 m above sea level—it's almost impossible to get any higher in the Odenwald.

Malerisch umgeben von zwei Armen der Havel liegt die Freundschaftsinsel in der Mitte Potsdams. Berühmt wurde sie durch die 1937 von Karl Foerster angelegten Schau- und Lehrgärten mit mehr als eintausend verschiedenen Stauden und über 250 Schwertliliensorten im Wassergarten. Hier kann man nicht nur bei einen Spaziergang die Natur und Garten genießen, sondern auch zahlreiche Skulpturen gibt es zu entdecken. Nicht zu vergessen das Inselcafé und der große Spielplatz, wo man als Familie den Tag verbringen kann. Die Freundschaftsinsel ist ein kleines Paradies unter den Grünanlagen von Potsdam.

Picturesquely surrounded by two arms of the Havel, Friendship Island lies in the middle of Potsdam. It became famous through the show and teaching gardens created by Karl Foerster in 1937 with more than a thousand different perennials and over 250 varieties of iris in the water garden. Here you can not only enjoy nature and the garden on a walk, but there are also numerous sculptures to discover. Not to forget the island café and the large playground where you can spend the day as a family. Friendhip Island is a small paradise among the green spaces of Potsdam.

The city where the inventor of the saxophone was born serves up fine views either from across the Maas river or from the top of the citadel. A truly unique city!

In Städten und auf dem Land möchte ich zu meiner Erinnerung rasch einfache, entdeckte, stille Stellen zeichnen - immer vor Ort - in der Vorstellung, allein zu sein, auch ohne den überquellenden Verkehr um mich herum. Weil ich aber für solch eine Zeichnung etwa eine halbe Stunde brauche, kann ich nur entdecken, sehen und arbeiten, wenn ich allein bin. Das ist selten der Fall.
In cities and in the country I want to my memory quickly simple, discovered, hidden places draw - always there - in the idea of being alone, even without the overflowing traffic around me. But because I need about half an hour for such a drawing, I can only discover, see and work, when I'm alone. That's rarely the case.

Ein Ausflug nach Wien
Alle, die keinen Urlaub machen können, mögen mich auf einer Runde durch Wien begleiten. Vorbei an den berühmten Sehenswürdigkeiten, aber vielleicht auch abseits Sehenswertes entdecken ...
...beim Wiener Donaukanal. Wenn es schön gemacht ist, empfinde ich es als Kunst, die mich durchaus begeistern kann … Die Micky Maus hätte Luis und Bärbel sicher auch gefallen !!😉
