The Engineers’ Day is celebrated in India on the birth anniversary of the great Indian engineer, Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, popularly known as Sir MV, Who was born on 15, September, 1860. Visvesvaraya was an Indian engineer, scholar, statesman and the Diwan of Mysore. He was the chief designer of the drainage system of Hyderabad and was also the chief engineer who led the construction of Krishna Raja Sangra dam. Hw also received Indian Republic’s highest honour, Bharat Ratna in 1955.

Family, friends and fellow service members attended the promotion of Melvin “Rocky” Hodges to the rank of Colonel on July 8th, 2024 at the West Virginia National Guard Joint Forces Headquarters in Charleston, W.Va.
Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Bill Crane presided over the ceremony and spoke along with WV Army Guard Chief of Staff Col. Robert Kincaid.
COL Hodges is commander of the 1092nd Engineer Battalion, 111th Engineer Brigade, West Virginia Army National Guard.

I hope my engineer friends will work with me to develop scavenger hunt and orienteering games for R1C adventures. We could have outdoor school spirit games that would really be a lot of fun and contribute to education.
