The 145th Civil Engineer Squadron has been a partner with Stanly Community College Heavy Equipment Operations program since the summer of 2009. The North Carolina Air National Guard first pioneered the perimeter of the site and installed all of the erosion control devices including the diversion ditches, silt fence, check dams, and silt pond. NCANG proceeded to grade approximately 40,000 cubic yards of dirt and level 15 acres of heavily wooded land to prepare it so classrooms could be built. Currently SCC is the only heavy equipment operations training school in the state. The partnership between SCC and 145 CES flourishes as the military and community continue to support each other. Just behind the brake van you can see the water tower that kept the troughs topped up. there's something in steam at the engine shed in the distant background. RIVERBANK, California -- The Army turned over 28 undeveloped acres to the city at an Oct. 17 ceremony.
The land was formerly property of the Riverbank Army Ammunition Plant, which closed in 2010 under the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Act.
Paul Cramer, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, presided over the event and joined Congressman Jeff Denham in speaking at the ceremony.
Riverbank Mayor Richard O’Brien and Brenda Johnson-Turner, Director of Real Estate for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, signed the memorandum of agreement that transferred the land to the city. The agreement formally drops responsibility of the 28 acres from the Presidio of Monterey.
Survey team plans the layout of the site prior to construction beginning.

Nuclear Engineer in Argonne's Nuclear Engineering Division. Hu is a member of the research team that has developed a modern suite of computer tools--called the SHARP Reactor Performance and Safety Simulation Suite--that digitally mimic and allow researchers to “see” the physical processes that occur in a nuclear reactor core, including neutron transport, thermal hydraulics and fuel and structure behavior. Argonne's high-fidelity computer modeling and simulation work in support of advanced nuclear energy systems is a natural outgrowth of the cumulative years of Argonne's expertise in nuclear energy.

On May 8, 2015 Wayne State's College of Engineering inducted graduates into the Order of the Engineer.
Over 100 students attended and joined the honorary engineering organization by reciting the pledge, accepting the Obligation of the Engineer and receiving a stainless steel ring. The Order of the Engineer was initiated in the United States to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, to bridge the gap between training and experience and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer.
