Two kinds of electrical generation going on here behind a southbound storm system...which in itself is a bit rare in these parts. Usually our weather rolls in from the west. I was a bit further behind the active lightning than I would have liked, but It is what it is...

This is what used to be called 'heat lightning' - in reality it's just normal lightning but off in the distance and too far away to hear the thunder. It was an amazing sight - I stood watching for about 40 minutes before the storm moved in close and the rains came.

Went over to the Farmington Gardens Nursery to pick up a new rose bush and as I was leaving I noticed this pylon just off the parking lot.. Just so happens I had a camera with me so parked and took a few shots.. Happy Telegraph Tuesday, Everybody !!!!

Recent summer storms inspired this image of Paris' Panthéon. The original lightning shot used for this montage was taken by James Minot.

One of a sequence of recently commissioned artwork decorating the electrical junction boxes along Pratt Street in downtown Baltimore. This one at the intersection with Howard Street is by the local arts group, Creative Nomads, and features a Baltimore Orioles hero - alas I don’t who. Perhaps a Flickrite O’s fan could enlighten me?

I decided to take a short break from Posting my Photographs on flickrâ„¢.

In the meantime I will use some of my Stored Stock Photographs, which I shot at Random somewhere in Pinellas County.

This will be open-ended without a rudder; whatever POPS into my Head.

I took these photograph of a Electrical Tower in Safety Harbor, Florida (Pinellas County) and Modified it with Photoshop by using several of the Creative Filters available to Distort the Tower by Bending & Twisting and Raising it up on top of a Fake Wave it to create these Weird Looking Pictures.

The Tower was on Concrete Pylons that rose above the water,

and led from a Generating Station on the West Shoreline across the Bay from Safety Harbor. There is a Hiking Trail along North Bayshore Blvd, which parallels the Coastline (Eastern shoreline of the Bay).

Phillippi Parkway shoots off at an angle (to the Left) from Bayshore Blvd. at Main Street in Downtown Safety Harbor (where Bayshore Blvd becomes North Bayshore Drive), paralleling the Bay for about a mile North where it ends at a pedestrian bridge that crosses a small inlet from the Bay.

The Pedestrian Bridge carries the Trail North into Phillippi Park past the Tocobaga Indian Temple Mound. The High Tension Towers that cross the bay are approximately Midway between the North side of the Bridge and the Indian Temple Mounds.

North Bayshore Drive ends on the South side of the bridge, only the Trail crosses the Bridge.

Vehicular access to Phillippi Park is about a Mile North along Phillippi Parkway, where there is an entrance into the Park and then back South along Phillippi Park Drive past the Indian Temple Mounds half way South towards the Pedestrian Bridge.

Unless you access the Towers by foot South along the Trail, it is best to buy a Map of Safety Harbor.

I went benching and I caught this.

The Main Street Electrical Parade is definitely a nostalgic thing for me. Visiting Disneyland as a kid, it was something my family always watched at the end of the day. Now that it's at WDW, my wife and I always make sure to catch it at least once each trip. I've tried photographing it a couple times now, and I've learned that to walk away with a good shot you need to get creative. This was one such attempt. This shot is inspired by many others on Flickr, but I also tried to get the crowd in their too for a bit of the human element.

An electrical insulator from my collection, marked Gayner No. 48-400. I found it along railroad tracks, the soot from steam engines has left black stain on it.

Two electrical cabinets in Preston. The one on the right is possibly Edwardian. The details make me think of a more optimistic society than the one that made the cabinet on the left.

I find overhead power lines quite fascinating when looking at them close up. I like the blue silver and gold in this natural HDR shot.
